9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Avoid What Erodes Loyalty INTRODUCTION: The inner qualities we foster in ourselves have a profound effect on whether we will remain loyal. Will we be prepare to face the tests of loyalty that may lie ahead? Water can erode solid rock, we want to avoid the elements that erode our loyalty. Pride draws attention to ourselves and Pride weakens our attachment to God. Humilty is humility lit "lowliness of min", it helps us to avoid not just hauty actions but hauty thinking (1 Pet 5: 5). - Look for opportunities to conduct ourselves "as a lesser one". Jesus gave a great expression of humily when Jesus washed the feet of the Apostles. Be proactive and don't just wait for occassions, make opportunities to be "lesser ones". Avoid focusing on the faults of others (recall Peter's negative remarks about the other Apostles supporting Jesus) #1 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Br Brown noticed his need to adjust his attitude towards being counsel. Volunteered for humble assignments.

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Avoid What Erodes Loyalty "But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin" - James 1:14, 15 We must avoid ALL improper entertainment. Harmful effects of being "mislead" by the intensity or degree of unhealthy entertaiinment. We must avoid rationalisation the danger of subtle degree of role play videos, books, films. Improper entertainment will eventually erode a person's christian character "whatever" the degree of exposure. Negligible (perhaps once a month) amounts of exposure will eventually have damaging effects (Jam 1:14-15). We must avoid reasoning that just because something is not pornography or overtly spiritistic it is not toxic. - quick decisive action is needed (Mt 5: 29-30). With effort one can eventually learn to abhor what is unhealthy. #2 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Br Travis watched questionable material on his cell phone; not pornography but material that stirred up unclean thoughts. << RC 2016 Remain Loyal [Bunker - Bad Association] >>9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Avoid What Erodes Loyalty It is very easy to adopt attitude, standard and personality traits of those around us that do not serve Jehovah. To "walk with" someone implies ongoing association and those that are "stupid" (not intellectually but morally) do not qualify as once we should associate with intimately (Prov 13:20) We limit our association with non-witnesses, not because we consider ourselves better than them, but because it is so easy to adopt their attitudes including their attitude to marital problems, material pursuits and moral issues including towards homosexuality. We don't shun them as if they are disfellowshipped but we do limit our association. We can find upbuilding association in the truth. #4 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Sis Brown's regular coffee breaks with workmates; she reset her priorties keeping limiting her breaks as if a male co-worker had invited her out. At this point it the video we see the friends are deep into the Great Tribulation.

“The one walking with the wise wise will become wise, but the one who has dealings with the stupid will fare badly.” - Prov 13:20 9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Avoid What Erodes Loyalty Fear of man can lead to compromise of neutrality or morality (Heb 10:38). The fear of Jehovah (a profound awe and deep respect for) is a "protection" and helps us be bold. Even the more timid amongst us can be courageous and bold (Heb 11:27) if we trust in Jehovah. We can avoid fom by building up our faith in Jehovah. (Is 8:13). Peter, Timothy had to be counselled by Paul that God did not give us a spirit of cowardise. (99wt - think ahead of time - prepapare and practice - pray Jehovah can remove the fear from our hearts. #5 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Kevin backed out when the message "changed from good news to judgement"; He could not preach with boldness during favorable times. CONCLUSION The videos emphasis the importance of strengthening our loyalty to Jehovah now and avoid the elements that erode our loyality well in advance for "God protects his loyal ones"

10:25 SYMPOSIUM: Pursue What Builds Loyalty INTRODUCTION: True loyality is more encompasing that merely a random feeling of devotion or self sacrifice . In the bible loyality is a loving attachement to someone that holds on to someone until the accomplishment of a purpose. It is founded on understanding why they are worthy of such attachment and in the bible loyalty is deeply connected with our relationship with God. Now is the time to cultivate qualities that strengthen our loyality. Appreciation moves us to be loyal to Jehovah. Meditating on our lives before we came to the truth and on the effects of his holy spirit on our lives moves us to pay our vows to Him (Ps 116:14). We must avoid concentrating on the imperfection of God's servants which would detract from our appreciation for the organization which has accomplished grand things (website, preaching work). Never let the failings of a few undermine the overwhelming proof God is backing this organization, give thanks in words and actions (1 Thess 5:18) #6 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Certain displayed a critical attitude towards the changes in the organization while the brothers family increased in their gratitude for everything Jehovah has done for us and for the organization.

10:25 SYMPOSIUM: Pursue What Builds LoyaltyWe are not born loyal and self control ( keeping or restraining ourselves, controling our actions speech and thoughts) and keeps us from engaging in masturbation, viewing pornography and this means we won't be come disapproved (1 Cor 9:27).All self control begins in the mind, avoiding day dreaming or fantasing (2 Cor 10:5). This involves more than will power, which focuses only on what we can do, but means "keep walking by spirit" meaning allow holy spirit to influence us in daily activities (see vers 22). - pray to Jehovah for holy spirit - reading and meditating on God's word (which helps us to identify our weakness points so we can focus on that address it). Write and memorize a list of scriptures that we can bring to mind Consult with mature Christians that will encourage us #6 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Elaine - who struggled with negative thoughts, helped by Sister Brown to considered how to controling thoughts to bring every "thought into captivity" (see 2 Cor 10:5; 1 Cor 9:25) - write down all negative thoughts and next to them what Jehovah's thinking on them were. - Kept the list with her at all time 10:25 SYMPOSIUM: Pursue What Builds Loyalty The world cannot understand the true purpose of love (2 Tim 3:2; Col 3:14) Love involves - Unselfish acts improve relationships and builds loyalty - Consistent repetition of self sacrificing love (1 Cor 10: 24) How do we develop self sacrificing thoughts (a reason or a desire for the action) - meditate on the love Jehovah has shown us personally (what has Jehovah given me?) this energizes us to show the same self-sacrificing love Phil 2:17 - meditate on the thousands of excellent examples of self sacrifice in our brothers and reflect on how and what we give to others - meditate on the the positive aspects of others, family members and mates Avoid the world's garbage thinking (midlife crisis, consciouse uncoupling,) Genuine love will move us to make sacrifices to simplify our lives to expand out loyalty and this will improve our bond with Jehovah. #7 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Keeping life simple: Chris & Shelly who shepherd all the service groups. Some are getting used to "doing without" some for the first time.

10:25 SYMPOSIUM: Pursue What Builds Loyalty Faith is not wishful thinking, its based on concrete evidence on God's word. We must truly believe in his ability and desire to reward us (see Heb 11:6). Believe Jehovah will take care of us and give us the strength to face trials. We must build our confidence in Jehovah and his organization (Rom 10:17) - Choose a few topics that build your confidence in specific topics (fulfilled prophecies, times of the end, Jehovah's personality etc) be convinced of what is going to happen "in the near future". The Israelites failed to reason on the abundant evidence of Jehovah love for them while Abraham had absolute confidence in Him. "Remember the works of Jah" - are you personally convinced of Jehovah's Saving power? #8 VIDEO [The Cellar]: Group remains confident PSALM 27: The face the troops with faith. CONCLUSION We don't know exactly how things will proceed, now is not the to ignore any weaknesses we have. Increase your appreciation for Jehovah and control our thoughts and actions. Be resolved to be courageous and stand firm!! JW Broadcasting—January 2019: Annual Meeting 2018: Are you ready?tv.jw.org/#en/mediaitems/StudioMonthly2019/pub-jwb_201901_1_VIDEO

11:20 INTRODUCTION: Human hatred started with Cain killing his brother Abel and caused enormous humans suffering. Yet humans are also capable of unselfishness and love. In fact most humans want and yearn for peace. If peace is so earnestly desired why has hatred not been eliminated. Is hatred part of human nature? No, God created man "in his image" free from hatefulness, so mankind's original condition was founded on love (Gen 1:27). - Hate actually originated with a rebellious angel who became Satan and the wicked spirits that jointed him. - This has reached it's climax in these the "last days" (2 Tim 3:1) - Love will soon triumph over hatred. The Edenic Prophecy ( Gen 3:15) - Serpant: Satan - Offspring: Those like Satan - Woman: God's heavenly organization - Offspring: Jesus (Gen 22:17, 18; Gal 3:16) Jesus highlighted that the Mosaic law was founded on love and when the Israelites adhered to these laws they enjoyed peace and protection from God that was unique at that time in history (Mt 22: 36-40). Jesus introduced a new way of thinking, teaching his followers to be able to yield and not to rise to provocation (Mat 5:38-40). The teachers of his time twisted the law (for example, the idea of "eye for eye" was a judicial principal for lawkeepers, not as a retalitory principle for every little infraction). Jesus life by what he taught and what he lived, his death and resurrection were other evidences of loyal love over hatred. In spite of all the hateful attitude of the religious leaders he continued to show love and with his ransom sacrifice he triumphed over hatred and opened the way for mankind to be freed from sin and death (1 Jh 3:8). True Jesus did die, but this was the "striking in the heel" not causing permanent damage. Jesus fortold that there would be an imintation Christians that would for a time gain dominance in the world scene making it hard to destinguis true christianity (Mat 13: 25-30; 38-39). This "imitation" Chrisitanity displayed extreme hatred (for example the Crusades, the infamous inquisition) For example of 80 Popes not one of the disapproved of the inquisision. Down to today, imitation has used violence, but happiliy Jehovah's Witnesses emerged as True Christians making loyal love evident (Jh 13: 34, 35) TESTIMONIALS: How love triumphed over hatred: Palestinian and a Jew (Is 2:2, 4) Jehovah's Witnesses invite all to join us in true Christianty without delay. Prophecies highlight the worstening world conditions are all culminating that the end of this system is very near. Then Jesus will imprison Satan for 1000 years and then the millions that have died as victims of hatred with be resurrected and finally Jesus will destroy Satan, crushing his head (Gen 3:15). At the time God's sovereignty will have been completely vincated and then all the harm caused by Satan will be reversed. Loyal love then will have triumphed completely over hatred.
