09:40"Instruct me, O Jehovah, about your way. I will walk in your truth. Unify my heart* to fear your name" - Psalms 86:11 INTRODUCTION: All commended in obeying Heb 10: 23, especially small children, poor health, unbelieving mates or work commitments. Being at the assembly reflects Psalm 133:1-3. - Definition LOYALITY Greek Row 1 column 1 | Row 1 column 2 | JEHOVAH deserves
- Jehovah is our Creator - Jehova Himself is loyal Ps 145: 8,9 (deliverance, protection, ransom) - he exercises his sovereignty in a loving way he is the only True God (he Created us and because his words are reliable)
| JESUS
- the second most powerful - king of kingddom - he has outstanding qualities - He gave his life for us |
ANOINTED CHRISTIANS Follow Jesus and we (the great crowd) take hold of "the robe of a Jew" (symoblizing the anoitned Christians) We receive spiritual food and we know God is with them. (See Zech 8:23). APPOINTED OVERSEERS: When something is said or done in the congregation that we have difficulty understanding, loyalty with protect us from negative thoughts about the appointed elders (3 Jh verses 5, 6). MISPLACED LOYALTY: Prioritizing our loyalty is necessary, Loyalty to Jehovah must always take first place in our lives. - Family: Although children are told to honor their parents (even when they are old) but family loyalty must never take priority over our loyalty to God (see Mat 10) - Disfellowshipped friends/family Never should we allow our loyalty to disfellowshipped family member to take priority over our (standing between a sinner and the discipline he needs is to block that one from the loving expression from Jehovah) - bibe students: must often choose between their present religion and the truth (see Rev 18:4). This takes courage. DIVIDED LOYALITY is "giving something to two or more person's or things rather than one person or thing". Jehova requires "exclusive devotion" so it is not possible for us to divide our devotion between Jehovah and another God (Exodus 34:14). We cannot "slave to two masters" for example "for riches" (Mat 6:26). Riches have its uses, but it can be a stumbling block to our devotion to God. Illustrate: A rock can be used to build a house or an idol. If we place the pursuit of money ahead of God it becomes another God. Jehovah warned that Israelites must not try and mix true worship with fales (Zeph 1: 4, 5). We too must be unhypocritical or half hearted in our worship; like the men of Zebulun we must be "undivided" in our loyalty (Ps 86:11 ; 1 Chron 12: 33). INTRODUCTION: LOVE motivates us to be loyal. When our loyalty is motivated by love it's complete it's not superficial it involves what we think, say and do. We will consider how we can maintain loyalty to Jehovah in thought word and action. - PART 1 Thought! (2 Corinthians 10:5)
- PART 2 Word! (Numbers 14:2, 26, 27)
- PART 3 Action! (Psalm 37:27, 28)
SYMPOSIUM Part 1: THOUGHT! ( 2 Corinthians 10:5) - w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom Rule Satan "did not stand fast in the truth" because he speaks according to his own thinking (John 8:44) Long before telling Eve the first lie, Satan was disloyal in thought. Eve too had every reason to remain loyal but when Satan introduced the idea to rebell she did not reject it. Long before Eve took that first bite she was disloyal in thought. JESUS however never entertained any thought to usurping God's position esus mental attitude was one of loyalty. (Phil 2:5, 6). J Since none of us being imperfect can honestly say we have never had an imperfect thought how can we control our throughts? We must "bring every thought into captivity" when an improper thought invades our minds, stop it, control it (2 Cor 10:5). - PRAYER Just as we don't hesitate to call the Police when in danger, when an improper thought invades our minds - DISMISS If thoughts are allowed to linger they gain force - FILL our minds with wholesome thoughts; consider godly material (Kingdom songs, JWB...) - BIBLE Use the bible which is powerful. When we conquer wrong thoughts its the meditation of our thoughts are "pleasing to [Jehovah]". DAVID: Was loyal in thought, saying it was "unthinkable" to harm the anointed of Jehovah (1 Sam 24:6) BARACH: Understress his thoughts were misdirected; we don't know exactly what the "great things" were, but he needed to change his thinking (Jer 45) In bible times imperfect servants of successfully guarded their thoughts. Even if no one else knows what we are thinking, Jehovah has and if we make efforts he will bless us. 10:10 SYMPOSIUM: Maintain Loyalty in . . .WORD ( Numbers 14:2, 26, 27) - w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleOur speech is a reflection of our thoughts and for imperfect humans this can be for good or bad (see Mat 12:34; Jam 3:5-10). - We should never underestimate the powerful effect negative speech can have on children, bible students or others. It can undermine their confidence in those who Jehovah is using to take the lead, for example the negative reports of the 10 faithless spys effected the course of the entire nation (Numbers chapters 13 and 14) - Ex 23:14 Not to refer to false God with feeling of awe. False Gods were to be regerded with contempt not admiration. We today must avoid expressing support of sympathy for this dying system, especially those with a measure of responsibility (Jer 2:8) - Avoid negative expressions about the new adjustments and changes; even if we don't fully understand them (compare Jh 6:60-70). Peter didn't hedge his bets or believe that Jesus would eventually retract his words. VIDEO #2 Tired simones catches herself murmmuring when put on toilet cleaning duty.

"Turn away from bad and do what is good, And you will remain forever. For Jehovah loves justice, And he will not abandon his loyal ones" - Psalms 37:27-28 10:10 SYMPOSIUM: Maintain Loyalty in . . . Part 3 ACTION! ( Psalm 37:27, 28) - w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleLoyalty is displayed in thoughts, words and action: turning away from bad and doing good manifests our loyalty. Joseph/ Subject to continual sexual harassament, he recognized that submitting to sexual immorality would have been an act of disloyality. - we do not read Joseph was not subject to sexual urges or that the woman was unattractive - Joseph was determined to be loyal to God and his master no matter the cost - paid a high price but continue to have Jehovah's blessing (verse 21)
We today are surrounded by a world that does not value loyalty and must struggle day after day. We have to do more than avoid disloyalty we have to " do what is good". Postive action is required. Ittai: (2 Sam Chapter 15) Ittai by his positive actions maintained loyalty. VIDEO #3 Sister makes good choice to not watch a popular tv show that features spiritism.

11:45Dogs are known for their loyalty to their owners. Isn't it a shame when we think about loyality we think about a dog. When thinking about human qualities, loyalty is quite rare today, in fact in some cities most people are fonder of their dogs than to other humans. Disloyalty is not restricted to our time, disloyality has been around since the time of Adam and Eve. King David was subject to much disloyalty but David still he continued to believe in the loyal love of Jehovah LOYAL LOVE Jehovah alone is loyal in the superlative sense; Loyalty is a facet of love and God "IS" love, so Jehovah's loyalty is unmatched (Rev 15:4). Loyalty is such a strength, steadfastness and love, it is a love motivated by committment, integrity, deep attachment. So in most languages (such as in English) we need more than one word to describe it. We love Jehovah our master, and because of that love Jehovah will always stay loyal to us, he will never fail us. David considered every instruction from God to be be righteous. Jehovah is ever faithful to his promises (Ruth 2:20) Notice in Romans 14:8,9 the dead are given priority over the living. Paul is giving a guarantee of the resurrection. Br Flodin shared he lost his sister the day before giving this talk. Psalm 63: We cherish Jehovah's loyality to us especially during our times of distress, he sees our pain (Ps 31:7; 63:3). Psalm 63:3; David in the wilderness wrote Psalms 63, we are in the wilderness of this system. David must have experience phsyical thirst many times on the run in the desert, we must have the same intensity for the word of God (verse 1-2). We need to regularly associate with Jehovah's people, this is one way to prepare for the tests ahead. David didn't focus on the gift of life, he focused on the GIVER of life ( verse 3) thus David resolved to lead a life in full dedication to God ( verse 4). Like David we don't look elsewhere for our spiritual sustainance ( verse 5) he could sense God's help ( verse 7) and felt God's protection. Do you " cling to Jehovah" meaning we cherish our intimacy with Him ( verse 8 compare Prov 3:3, 5). David knew that his enemies were also God's enemies so he was confident he would not suffer defeat ( verse 9, 10). Because of all that Jehovah would do for him David rejoiced. Remember David was still out in the wilderness when he wrote this, we too can "rejoice" because we have confidence soon Jehovah will silence his enemies. Jehovah's loyal love is better than our own existence, even if we die we have a future! Remain loyal to your owner and in so doing you will experience his loyalty for all eternity.
