9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not Satan Be Generous (Luke 14:13, 14) PART 2 Be Appreciative (Luke 7:44) PART 3 Be Truthful (Matthew 5:37) PART 4 Be Loyal (John 13:1; Ephesians 4:24) [/ul] PART 1 : Be Generous ( Luke 14:13, 14) -- w15 6/15 p. 3 [Power of God] Jehovah is generous ( Psalm 145:16). Jehovah gives us life and breath and all good gifts. Jesus imitates his Father perfectly in this respect; notice Jesus generousity during his first miracle at Cana providing up to perhaps 105 gallons of fine wine. Also he fed up to 5000 people that were not in a position to repay him (( Mat 14: 14-21) Satan by contrast is stingy. He has convinced people that far from there being happiness in giving, to cultivates a spirit that asks "What's in it for me?" Others give with a view of receiving in return. Jesus deserned people's physical, emotional and spiritual needs and then filled it expecting nothing in return (Prov 3:27; Luke 14: 13, 14). We should therefore seek to help our brothers in need (full time servants and others). Can we generously spare our time and resources to help further the good news. Parents, never underestimate your example in helping your children to be generous. Viewing: BJF Be Generous 9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not Satan: PART 2 : Be Appreciative ( Luke 7:44) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleOur hearts are warmed by acts of appreciation. Jehovah remembers those that love Him (Mal 3:16). Christ too appreciates those that value Jehovah's standards and verbally commended those that displayed a kindly spirit (Luke 21; Lk 7:44). In constast Satan is critical and as an ingrat, he squandered his privileges and seeks to implie others are like him (Job 1:9). - prayers: Our prayers should include thanksgiving and praise and never be "lopsided" with only requests and pleas (Lk 17:16) - Show appreciation: When we recieve gifts we should show appreciation. For example by listening to the talks and counsel from the gifts in men as well as support the theocratic works. Do not hold back from voicing your appreciation to others and teach your children to be appreciative [Illustration: The truth is like a valuable old painting that children lack appreciation for] Viewing BJF Be Appreciative.

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not Satan Be Generous (Luke 14:13, 14) PART 2 Be Appreciative (Luke 7:44) PART 3 Be Truthful (Matthew 5:37) PART 4 Be Loyal (John 13:1; Ephesians 4:24) [/ul] PART 3 : Be Truthful ( Matthew 5:37) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleBeing truthful is difficult for both young and old. Jehovah and Jesus are always truthful and we endeavor to do the same (Psalm 31:5; John 18). By contrast Satan is a liar and the father of the lie and this world reflects his spirit, Christians must have a reputation of being trustworthy in all things, honouring their promises and speaking the ruth (Mat 5:37). - Be tactful Never use truthfullness as an excuse to being unkind, not all true things need to be said (Col 4:6). Enemies of truth don't deserve information they would use to harm God's servants. - Don't use "selective truth telling". Do not lead brothers or sisters to a wrong conclusion using things that are technically true but are misleading. This is true for adults and Children. New Video Viewing: BJF Be Truthful[Note how Caleb's father reacted to his lie? He trained him without making his son feel lie a bad person] 9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not Satan: PART 4 : Be Loyal ( John 13:1; Ephesians 4:24) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleJesus imitates Jehovah who is "abundant in loyal love". Loyal love is love a strong committment and a deep attachement towards someone. Jehovah even remembers those who have died loyal. Jehovah was loyal to His figurative wife. Jesus was like his father, he "loved his disciples to the end" (John 13:1). Eph 4: 24 Satan is not loyal. He exploits people and encourages others to treat othrs like a "disposible cup" throwing away friendships parents and even marriage mates. If we let smaller acts of betrayal such as viewing pornography or flirting can undermine a marriage. We must "cherish" or highly esteem loyalty and if we do we will display this quality. - Loyalty begins at home, so cherish your mate
- Set boundaries: Send out clear signals that you are married and decide in advance what conduct you will or will not tolerate
- Talk: discuss challenges and work together to meet those challenges

10:20 SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not the Pharisees Be Reasonable (Matthew 23:23, 24) PART 2 Be Forgiving (Matthew 18:22; John 21:15-17) PART 3 Be Impartial (Mark 10:13-15) PART 4 Be Refreshing (Matthew 11:28-30) [/ul] SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not the Pharisees: PART 1 : Be Reasonable ( Matthew 23:23, 24) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleTo be reasonable means to be "yielding" being willing to listen and adjust to the circumstances. Jehovah is reasonable, rather than insisting on the letter of the law he takes into account we are made of dust. [ Video Extract: Woman with the flow of blood] Jesus focused on his disciples strengths rather than their weaknesses and even when he knew they would abandon him, he never doubted their loyalty. The Pharisees emphasised the letter of the law but missed the laws whole intent. Matthew 23:23, 24 rigid legalists they concentrated on what a person did rather than their motives and heart condition. How would the Pharisees have dealt with that woman! Those with authority must strive to deal patiently with the friends and not make arbitary rules, make allowances for their shortcomings. Jesus reasonably took into consideration the circumstances at the time of his death. One missionary sister recognized she had been exasperated that publishers didn't keep up to date with the Kingdom Ministry only to later recognize that for some, it was all they could do to get out in service. SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not the Pharisees: PART 2 : Be Forgiving ( Matthew 18:22; John 21:15-17) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleJehovah is alway read, able and eager to forgive repentent wrongdoers [Example David] When Jehovah forgives he forgives completely (Ps 86:5). Jesus forgave Peter's denial, seeking Peter out individual to build him back up later giving him the opportunity to affirm his love (John 21: 15-17). The Pharisees forgiveness was by formula (they had a rule that forgiveness coulld be withheld after three offenses for the same wrong) Matthew 18: 21, 22; 1 Cor 13:5; Col 3:13). Elders must display the same loving attitude never trying to shame someone into actions (Job 33: 6, 7) [ Demonstration: Two Elders conduct a visit to encourage an inactive sister using the Return brochure - reading the first paragraph]

He judges us upon how we respond and act towards his requirements. It does not matter how long we have served Jehovah or in what capacity, all are equal and will be rewarded with the same everlasting life if we endure. The Pharisees despised the gentiles, non-jews women and children. Saddly the disciples even allowed these negative attitudes to influenced them (recall when they tried to prevent children from approaching Jesus) [ Interview: A sister that was subject to racial prejudice in the world contrasted with the impartiality of the spiritual brothers and sisters] Our congregations must be a safe haven from the influences of this world. Are we showing appreciation for the beautiful differences. Our unity doesn't require us to be identical let us continue to cultivate love for the whole association. SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jesus, Not Satan: PART 4 : Be Refreshing ( Matthew 11:28-30) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RulePhysical refreshment is envigorating but temporaray but Jehovah offers seasons of refreshing to repentant sinners. He lifts the burden of guilt. Today people are loaded down by negative feelings and guilt. ( compare Luke 7: 36-48; Mat 11: 28-30) Jesus was not harsh or judgemental when a sinful woman approached him but rather he read her heart and knew her repentence was genuine. He told her should could have peace of mind (verse 50) Simon's reaction was typical of the Pharisees. Rather than offering help, rejoicing at her recovery, Simon silently condemned the woman. They were always looking for flaws in people, heaping rules on them which lead to more guilt and negativity (Mat 23:4). In imitation of Jesus look for the good in others offering sincere commendation for what they have done. The Return Brochure will help many to come back to Jehovah's organization. How will we receive them? Let us avoid the attitude of the Pharisees and cultivate that of Christ (Romans 15:5)

11:10 SYMPOSIUM: Do the Work That Jesus Did (Matthew 4:23) Preach (Mark 1:38) PART 2 Teach (Luke 24:32) PART 3 Heal (Proverbs 12:18; Galatians 6:1) [/ul] Do the Work That Jesus Did (Matthew 4:23): PART 1 : Preach ( Mark 1:38) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom Rulei]To preach means to proclaim or herald (like a public announcement).Preaching was a priority for Jessus. We are close to the end and many are lost in this system. Preaching is therefore urgent in at this time as it was for Jesus (Mat 24:14; Mk 1:30). Jesus knew his message would bring them hope and spiritual liberty (Luke 4:16-18). He had the courage to do so boldy because he was commissioned by God and backed by holy spirit. Jesus preached evereywhere in public places with a message based on the idea of repentence and support for God's Kingdom. How to make your time count: - be bold At times our preaching will meet with opposition. - be thorough Since lives are at stake we must not let any opporunity slip - be approachable. Jesus warm and trusting manner drew people to him. [ VIDEO PRESENTATION: Being Approachable]

11:10 SYMPOSIUM: Do the Work That Jesus Did (Matthew 4:23) Preach (Mark 1:38) PART 2 Teach (Luke 24:32) PART 3 Heal (Proverbs 12:18; Galatians 6:1) [/ul] Do the Work That Jesus Did (Matthew 4:23): PART 2 : Teach ( Luke 24:32) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleJesus' teaching deeply effected people (Lk 24: 32) Preaching conveys facts about a matter. Teaching helps build appreciation for information and motivates individuals to act on the information. To be effective our teaching must be solidly based on God's Word. Our teaching must be motivated by love for our listener as does Jehovah. To improve our teaching - simplicity Use words and illustrations that are simple to understand. - Brievity. Do not overwhelm our listeners with too much information. Let the students comprehension set the pace. - Clarity. Help them to see the truth clearly. When Jesus' disciples didn't understand a point explain things clearly. [ VIDEO DEMONSTRATION: Poor and good teaching technique (1914) Good teaching may result in the joy of making a disciple. Do the Work That Jesus Did (Matthew 4:23): PART 3 : Heal ( Proverbs 12:18; Galatians 6:1 ) -- w15 6/15 p. 7 par 17 [imitate Christ now]Jesus had miraculous healing powers but he also understood that people's emotional and spiritual pains ( Mk 6:34). We come into contact with people that are suffering and our wise use of our tongue can "heal" (Prov 12:18; Gal 6:1). The depressed, sick or bereaved can be helped to reajust so they don't suffer long term spiritual damage. Helping the bereaved: listen speak consolingly (like soothing balsam oil) remind them of Jehovah's concern for them offer practical help DEMONSTATION Brother helps a bereaved parent (suicide) directing him to the research guide.
