1:35 Song No. 56 Sing Praises in Imitation of Jesus INTRODUCTION: Upon the victory of the Red Sea, the Israelites praised God in song. Interestingly it seems that the Israelites had to learn the song on the spot and that the men took the lead. Jesus himself is reported to have sang on his final passover, likely the Jewish Halel (Psalms 115-118). Songs also featured in the early congregations and Paul and Silas sang in Prison (Acts 16). Colossians 3 verse 16 tells us how we should sing, saying we should sing "with gratitude", from the heart. Music is an important part of our worship today. Although everyone cannot have a share in the meeting by talking but all can join in song. We worship Jehovah in both song and prayer. Indeed while many rightly give attention to prayers but equally important is our singing. But I don't have a good singing voice. The fact that "we all stumble many times" doesn't stop us from speaking, neither should our far from perfect voices stop us from doing our best How can we improve our singing? STEP 1 Select one of your favorites songs STEP 2 In one breath speak all of the words in a single breath* read all the words in that line STEP 3 sing that same phrase with that same vibrancy. Opening your mouth a little wider than when you speak. * take a deep breath, from your lower lungs. Other exercises to strengthen voices is to hum songs. Those with fine voices should not be discouraged from modestly singing out as this can help others. Those without exception skill should keep in mind that loud singing is not necessarily the same as good singing. Try and match your volume with those around. A proper attitudeWe sing to praise Jehovah and encourage the brothers. If we keep these objectives in mind we will not be overly concerned with the impression we mighty give (2 Cor 8:12). Keep in mind Jehovah is well pleased with our sincere efforts. Even an out of tune voice can please Jehovah if it comes from a grateful hearth.

2:05 SYMPOSIUM: Imitate Jehovah by Imitating Jesus ( John 14:9) - PART 1 “Take These Things Away From Here!” (John 2:13-17)
- PART 2 He “Started to Wash the Feet of the Disciples” (John 13:3-5)
- PART 3 "Go Away, Satan!” (Matthew 4:8-11)
- PART 4 “It Has Been Accomplished!” (John 19:30;Isaiah 55:10, 11)
- PART 5 “Happy Are the Peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9;Luke 24:34)
- PART 6 Pay Back “God’s Things to God” (Matthew 22:15-22)
INTRODUCTION:Christians are encouraged to become "imitators of God" (Eph 5:1), this is a big challenge for imperfect humans. Happily Jesus, as a perfect reflection of his father was provided as a helper (Jh 14:9). Jesus and Jehovah formed the greatest friendship ever formed and so no one is more atuned to Jehovah's feelings. In studying, meditating and imitating Jesus we learn about Jehovah. - How does Jehovah display this quality? (standard)
- How does Jesus display this quality? (application)
- How can we display this quality? (practical application)
SYMPOSIUM Part 1: “Take These Things Away From Here!” ( John 2:13-17) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleZeal is a steadfast refusal to tolerate rivalry; a burning desire to protect that which is exclusive in nature. Jehovah had a zeal or a passion for Jerusalem , promoting true worship as superiour for true worship (see Zech 8:1, 3) Jehovah will not tolerate any rivalry to His holy name (as represented by Jersualem's temple) Jesus was outraged by the corruption of pure worship displaying a similar zeal [ Monitor image: John 2:13-17] We need to avoid anything reproach on pure worship: - do we keep our conduct holy so as not to bring any reproach on Jehovah's name (Ecc 5:1) - do we use the kingdom hall as a point to drop of commercial products? (Mk 11:16) - do we refuse to allow the imperfections of others or any abuses we might recognize to seperate us from Jehovah present arrangement for worship SYMPOSIUM Part2: He “Started to Wash the Feet of the Disciples” ( John 13:3-5) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom Rule"The first test of a truly great man is his humilty" Humility Humility is the absence of arrogance and pride and enables one to treat people with patience. Jehovah is the perfect example of this condescending to deal with imperfect humans (compare Psalms 18:35) Jesus' heart was totally free from arrogance and pride and set a perfect example of how to treat others (Mt 11: 29) he was willing to work hard on behalf of others, for example taking the intiative to wash his Apostles feet [ Monitor image: John 13:3-5]. Jesus didn't feel over qualitified. How can we demonstrate humility?- am I willing to work hard at tasks that the world views as menial? - Do I view others with less training, responsibilities or seniority as being superiour? (Phil 2:3; Rom 6:23) [ Demonstration: Young brother initially balks at being given the assignment menial assignment at the Kingdom Hall] Humbly serve Jehovah (James 4:6)

- PART 6 Pay Back “God’s Things to God” (Matthew 22:15-22)
SYMPOSIUM Part 3: "Go Away, Satan!” ( Matthew 4:8-11) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleOne of the most important Christian life skills is the ability to hate and reject Satan? Hatred is a feeling of loathing. Jehovah hates Satan. This is demonstrated in the fact that Jehovah has not allowed Satan's personal name to be revealed and simply labels him "belial" (good for nothing) (2 Cor 6:15) "dragon" "the wicked one" (1 Jh 5:19)... Jesus showed his utter loathing for Satan by rejecting his offer to worship him (Satan) saying "Go away Satan". [ Monitor image: Matthew 4:8-11] - What can help us to quickly reject Satan's offers? Remember, any temptation or attraction for this world is never as good as he (Satan) promises and whatever Satan offers is never worth the price paid. [Interview Young Brother tempted by a girl at school] Can we oppose the Devil? ( James 4:7) Never sacrifice our preciouse privileges of service. SYMPOSIUM Part 4: “It Has Been Accomplished!” ( John 19:30; Isaiah 55:10, 11) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleWe all face challenges to our dedication. How is Jehovah is alway true to his word (Is 55:10, 11). Jesus presented himself to do God's will and courageously faced the suffering this would entail. Jesus was true to his word, never compromising his principles, upholding God's rulership even until death. As he died he said " It has been accomplished" ( John 19:30) proving Satan a liar setting the most important issues in the universes. How can we be true to our word? by living up to our dedication even if it entails eduring suffering (Mk 8:34) [ Interview: Sister with serious health problems] Jesus endured extremem mental and phyical stress by relying on his Father. Jehovah will help you to live up to your dedication (1 Pet 5:10)

SYMPOSIUM Part 5: “Happy Are the Peacemakers” ( Matthew 5:9;Luke 24:34) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleA "peacemaker" is someone who takes the intitative to actively promotes peace even at great personal cost. Jehovah is the foremost peacemaker offering his son to provide the way for us to regain a peaceful relationship with Him (Rom 15:33; Col 1:19, 20) Jesus was always ready to actively promote make peace, for example forgiving Peter for his denials and entrusting him with further responsibilities (see Luke 24:34; Jh 21: 15-17) How can we be peacemakers? By taking the initiative to promote peace (Mat 5:9) [ DEMONSTRATION A and B: A sister who has been offended finally speaks to the offender and finds it was a misunderstanding] A peacemaker applies Mat 5: 23, 24 being willing to apologise, sacrificing our pride in order to maintain peace? SYMPOSIUM Part 6: Pay Back “God’s Things to God” ( Matthew 22:15-22) -- w14 1/15 p. 12 [100 years Kingdom RuleHow does Jehovah tolerate no rivalry? Jehovah does not share with any person or any thing the devotion that He alone deserves (Ex 34) because his sovereignty brings peace, order and happiness to his subjects How does Jesus display a similar zeal for Jehovah's name? He willingly subjected himself to do God's will rejecting any notion of challenging God for worship viewing God's word as the final authority (Phil 2: 5-8) How can we render Jehovah exclusive devotion to Jehovah? [ Monitor Image: Matthew 22:15-22] - Cesar things: Obedience to Govermental laws that are not in violation to God's laws (including the paying of taxes which finance the services they provide). - God's things: Our worship and exclusive devotion to God which cannot be claimed by any individual or earthly government (Mat 4:10)

INTRODUCTION Jesus both loved and feared his heavenly Father, Jehovah. Jesus fear was a wholesome dread of disappointing or displeasing his Father. Jesus would never want or allow anything to lure him to displease Jehovah. He was duly modest because pfection involves allowing others to assist you where appropriate. Jesus godly fear reflected modesty. He modestly refered to God's Word as the final authority on his decisions ( Mat 4 4). In the garden of Gethsemene he accepted assistance from others, even those inferior in position to himself (angels). He turned to Jehovah at every moment in prayer including during his most trying moments (Heb 5:7). Jesus warned against " fear of man" that could intimidate them and prevent them from giving a bold witness (Read Mat 10: 27-41). - be in fear [verse 28] God does not tolerate willful unrepentant sinning and reserves the right to punish sinners. Those who constrantly try to defy Jehovah have reason to be terrified of God. - have not fear: ("do not fear what they fear" Peter ) morbid fear of what our enemies can do to us. Servants of God do not have to fear the things that Satan uses to intimidate and enslave people fear of death, humiliation, fear of failure. * Our knowledge of the resurrection means we know that the worse Satan can do is only temporary. * Fear of humiliation can be counteracted by an increased appreciation for Jehovah's principles. * Satan want our fear of failure to hold individuals back from the very things that can save their lives (Isaiah 41:10) [ DEMONSTRATION: Youth, who is happy to have his drivers license, holds back from baptism for fear of failure - ref YPA vol II worksheets] Jehovah appreciates and rewards the right kind of fear. Jesus did not serve God for a reward, the gift of immortality was no doubt a surprise to him. Jehovah always returns more to us than we expend for Him. It is immossible to outgive Jehovah.

INTRODUCTION No parents fears anything more than the loss of a child. Jehovah searches for His sheep that have strayed (Ez 34: 16). Jesus likeways said he came to "seek and save what was lost" Never before has it been more urgent to seek strayed ones; the world is clearly heading towards it's end. Remember global anarchy will not arrive before the tribulation, we have all the pieces in place for the end. (Ez 34: 16). How can we help inactive ones? - What efforts are being made to search for stray sheep? - What can we do to help them return to Jehovah's loving arms? Jesus and Jehovah has a great love for inactive ones and wants them to "return" (Lk 15:4-10; Mal 3:) Ask yourself since I have been inactive has my life been happier? How will inactive ones be received? [ Video Enactment] Psalms 119: 176 "I have strayed like a lost sheep, search for your servant for I have not forgotten your commandments". Inactive witnessess have not forgotten Jehovah and have not become enemies of the truth, to help inactive ones Witnesses (especially elders) must do the following: - Take the initiative - strengthen them [Lk 15:4]
- Be gentle (shepherd carrying lamb because its battered, bruised, hurt)
- Be welcoming, confirm your love and give support (vidoe first section was only in the strayed ones imagination)
