09:40CHAIRMAN'S ADDRESS : CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS: Jehovah—The Source of True Courage ( Psalm 28:7 ; Psalm 31:24 ;112:7 ; 2 Timothy 1:7 ) Our opening video highlighted the contents of the music video, namely the efforts that a typical family went through before attending the assemby. We are encouraged to be in our places to enjoy the musical presentations. Our program will help us cultivate courage which is not dependent on our personal skills but o our sprituality. VIDEO #1 brother from the governing body (Samuel Herd) reviews some events from the year and highlighted how this year's theme is relevant to events (Luke 22:31) . We may not consider ourselves particularly courageous the AWAKE magazine defines "courage" as the mental, moral and spritual strength of being able to face difficult situation whether small or great, it doesnt mean not being afriad it means actiing despite our fear. (Compare 2 Tim 1:7 ;Ps 112:8,7). As we face the great tribulation courage is needed. Couage is a spiritual that comes from Jehovah. JOSHUA ) and Caleb showed couage facing down the 10 spies and shortly before his death Moses encouraged Joshua to have confidence in Jehovah. He as commanded to read God’s word, whoch would strengthen his faith. ( Joshua 1:6-9 ) - see lfb29 Note put ten spies on Josh INDEX VIDEO #2 Herman van Elburg, faithful to death during the 2nd World War. tv.jw.org/#en/mediaitems/VODIntExpEndurance/pub-jwbrd_201501_2_VIDEOVIDEO #3 Compilation video : Situations were we will need to be courageous The Lessons of the program.

10:15 SYMPOSIUM: Why True Christians Need Courage . . . INTRODUCTION: how can I show more courage in the preaching, Jesus instigated what would end in the most extensive preaching campaign of all time (Phil4:12) PART 1 To Preach ( Revelation 14:6 ) To accomplish our minisrty we may have to overcome fear of ma. and to have faith we need holy spirit for which we can pray ( Luke 11:3) Three ways to show more courage 2) concentrate on the good results: create opportunities to preach, don't fall into a routine, get out of you " comfort zone" and use all methods available. PART 2 To Remain Holy ( 1 Corinthians 16:13, 14)
Holiness is a christian requirement. Is it possible for an imperfect human to be holy? 1 Pet 1:15-16. So we must be holy because Jehovah is holy, we cannot of course be as holy as Jehovah but thanks to the ransom of Jesus we can be as holy as possible.
To be holy means to be separate for Jehovah. This implies more than simply following a spiritual routine, it implies our attitude. Our difference in values may puzzle others but if we want to be accepted by this world we won't be accepted by God (1 Pet 4:4).
Three areas where Christians must be courageous to remain holy:
1) Political neutrality (Jame 4:4)
2) A Christian may face pressure to date a non believer and commit sexual immorality
- VIDEO #6 Testiomy Young brother gets propositioned in highschool
- look to God's word for practical advise 1 Cor 16:13, 14
- get advise from mature Christians
Our on going efforts make Jehovahs heart glad 2 Pet 3: 11-14

PART 3 To Maintain Neutrality ( Revelation 13:16, 17 ) 289 Jehovahs Witnesses are currently in prison for their neutrality. Why is it necessary for a Christian to remain neutral? Because Jesus said we are to be no part of this world The mountain represents the world's governments ( Rev 8: 8-9) and the world pressures Jehovah's people to get the mark of the Beast. - VIDEO #7 Testiomoy: African brothers remain neutral in Congo
This world is divided however we can maintain our unity in obedience t2omthe requirements of the kingdom. How to remain firm 1) Maintain Jehovahs view of government; remeber no human goverment can solve mankinds problem Ecclesiastes 8:9 Humans were not created himself govern. 2) Avoid expressing political preferences or bias to one race or culture over another; avoid a spirit of nationalism 3) cultivate the fruitage of the spirit resist the spirit of the world 4) respect the superior authorities Mark 12:17 5) Meditate on modern day examples Satan wants to divide us and compromise our faith. Be resolved to remain neutral

11:45 “No Weapon Formed Against You Will Have Any Success” ( Isaiah 54:17 ; Psalm 118:5-7) INTRODUCTION: The brothers in the concentration camps showed great courage, not in their own power but God's. Jesus prophecies that his disciples would be persecuted ( Mat 10). The persecution would be most intense during the last days. We are engaged in a spiritual against Satan and the Devil and they are formidabe enemies. but we have a guaranteed success (Is 54 :17). What are the arms of the Devil? Lies threats humiliation torture and even execution. The same as in the past, pressures, threats, incarceration.... In the first century the threats of the authorities had the opposite effect as wished Acts 5:40. Again the number of witnesses increased during the second world war persecution and by the number of witnesses more than doubled (72,000 to 136,000). In Soviet Russia our brothers preached were they were exiled.
We stand firm thanks to
a) The holy spirit b) The angels c) Christian brotherhood
Our brothers in Russia are currently undergoing intense persecution (26 brothers and one sister), our brother Christenson remains in prison as do our brothers in Eretrea also are severely persecuted. In his own due time victory will be accorded, has was the case in Canada. . Jehovah's protection is not automatic but in response to our firm love for Jehovah ( Rev 2:11) [li] VIDEO #9 . Various testimonies from around the world as to how brothers stood firm[/li][/ul] Satan has no weapon that can take away our spiritual peace and prosperity. As long as ee remain in Jehovah's hands, although we face much opposition,we will be completely victorious Roman 8:35, 37
