<< SONG #120: Listen, Obey, and Be Blessed >>(Luke 11:28) 1. If we have listened to Christ, will we show it? His teaching shines as it shows us the way. It makes us happy to hear and to know it, But we’ll be blessed if we know and obey. (CHORUS) Listen, obey, and be blessed When you hear God’s will expressed. If you’d be happy and enter his rest, Listen, obey, and be blessed. 2. Our way of life, like a house, gives protection When it is built on the rock, not on sand. If we apply Jesus’ loving direction, We’ll build a life which on bedrock will stand. (Chorus) << [Bible Reading ]>>

INTRODUCTION: Is it really possible to pursue a godly way of life? What must a person do in order to be eligible as a subject of God's Kingdom. The following sysmposiums will draw our attention to specific traits and practices that will either bar us from or enable us to enter into the kingdom of God. Jehovah has given us moral boundaries to get on and keep us on the road to life. We all need to work to remain clean (Mat 6:33). The practices that disqualify us from inheriting the kingdom are listed in 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11. The verses can be encouraging because they show that all four catagories can be over come. 1/4 SEXUALLY IMMORAL PEOPLE Bible Reading [1 Corinthians 6]-- w15 6/15 p. 13 [Chastity]- What is involved in the offense? Sex immorality(I Cor 6:9)
- How do we counteract it?
a) Pray for and exercise self control controlling our thoughts and actions (1 Thessalonians 4: 3, 4; 2 Cor 10:5)
b) Avoid pornography which contains immoral scènes which can burn into your memory and foster immoral desires - What evidence is there that those that practice such things can change? Yes, 1 Corinthians 6:11 says that some who practiced such things were "washed clean" ; we have the example of Brother Araujofrom Brazil who abandoned his homosexual lifestyle Remember Jehovah is "greater than our hearts"
REVIEW POINTS 1° Be determined to avoid sexual immorality 2° To be subjects the sexual immoral must change 3° Remember Jehovah is eagre to help people to change 2/4 IDOLATORSINTRODUCTION: Idolatry is the worship of anything or anyone other than Jehovah; anything to which a person forms and immoderate devotion . Although we intially think of religious idols but in fact there are other ways people can become "idolators". [1] Admiration for entertaines and sports personality or teams; , [2] enslavement to fleshly desires, materialism that can squeeze our time and rob our attention. [3] Seeking prominence, fame or power. Jehovah hates all forms of idolatry (listed with degrading sexual practices) will exclude us from inheriting the kingdom (verse 9). JWB - Satan's Designs (2 Cor 2:11) tv.jw.org/#video/VODProgramsEvents/pub-jwbmw_E_201411_2_VIDEO- What is involved in the offense? Putting anything or anyone above Jehovah (I Cor 6:9)
- How do we counteract it? Meditate on Jehovah and what he deserves. Also reflect on the shameful nature of this course and remember idolatry serves the interest of Satan the Devil.
- What evidence is there that those that practice such things can change? Many amongst us have changed (2 Thes. 1.5)

Saturday Morning3/4 GREEDY PEOPLE INTRODUCTION: Five double cheeseburgers, four bacon sandwhices, nine jam doughnuts, 3 bottles of beer, two strawberry milkshakes and a cup of tea. This would be viewed as an overindulgence of the greediest kind. But when the bible speaks about greed it is not limited only to food. - What is involved in the offense? Greed is an excessive desire to have more possessions or other things. Thieves, extortioners and drunkard are all symptoms of greed (the obsessive, addictive desire for more). None of us immune from the snare of Greed and it "clogs" our spirituality and therefore All greed has no place in God's arrangement (1 Cor 6:10)
[/b][/color][/url] [/div][li] How do we counteract greed? a) Recognize that greed's bad fruitage (disatisfaction, disturbed state of mind, satan-like qualities - compare Proverbs 30:13) b) Cultivate Good qualities such as contentment (Philipians 2:4; 4:11) c) Meditate on warning examples eg Eve, Judas (Luke 12:15) [/li] [li] What evidence is there that those that practice such things can change? The demonstration illustrâtes that this is possible[/li][/ul] 3/4 REVILERSINTRODUCTION: "The tongue is a fire" and one way this is manifest is by reviling. - What is involved in the offense? Reviling is "subjecting a person to insulting abusive speech" (1 Cor 6:10 ftn). If one habitually does this, even his family members, this could render his worship futile and he risks being expulse from the congregation (James 1: 26; 1 Cor 5:11, 13 also see w92 8/15)
[/b][/color][/url] << w13 8/15 p. 18 [Enraged against Jehovah] >>[/div] [li] How do we counteract it? a) Focus on the good in others b) avoid all forms of harmful speech (negative (unflattering), critical discouraging, depressing, harmful gossip and slander (defined as " a false report that harms the good name and reputation of another person") - see w92 8/15) c) learn to stop speaking if we or others find negative talk veers into reviling (Eccl. 10.12-14). d) Learn to re-direct conversations towards more positive topics[/li] [li] What evidence is there that those that practice such things can change? Yes, experience of Troy [Awake 13 4/13] who was formerly abusive of his wife.[/li][/ul]

INTRODUCTION: Inheritance is usually an automatic family right. Spiritually though both anointed and other sheep can "inherit God's kingdom" only if they meet the needed requirement of actions and our attitude (2 Peter 3:13). 1/4 THOSE WHO ARE POOR (Luke 6:20; Matthew 5:3 ) [Bible Reading : ...]Jesus said "happy are those consciouse of their spiritual need" (Literally " beggers of the spirit"). Do we have the attitude about spiritual things as did Bartimaeus who demonstrated a persistent desire for help, leaping up when giving an opportunity?( See Mark 10: 48-50; Math 20: 29 - 34) Are we aware that we will spiritually die if we don't feel our needs? Guard against the snare of overconfidence, constantly renew and replenish our spiritual needs. Take full advantage of all the provisions Jehovah provides: do not miss meetings or conventions without good reason. 2/4 THOSE WHO BECOME AS YOUNG CHILDREN (Matthew 18: 2-4) Bible Reading [Humility]JW TALK May 2020 INTRODUCTION The bible compares us to Young children. While children have some traits we must do away with (Can be easily mislead; tendency to be wayward) they also have some characteristics that we must cultivate. ( 1 Corinthians 14:20; Ephesians 4:14) [/b] [li] Innocent: Avoid allowing our minds being polluted by pornography; be " babes as to badness": inexperienced in the way of Satan's world [/li] [li] Humble: Do not seek prominence (Matthew 18: 2-4)[/li] [li] Dependent, teachable : For our survival we must completely depend on Jehovah. This will move us to be obedient of Jehovah's organization (Proverbs 3: 5,6)[/li] [li] Exuberant: Cultivate a childlike boldness (Matthew 21: 15, 16)[/li] [/ul] INTERVIEW: Young brother who was as a teen ashamed of his faith and terrified is friends would see him on the ministry. Things turned around when a schoolmate defended him and he realized that he needed to take pride in his religion. He auxiliary pioneered and this gave him a taste for the truth. CONCLUSION If we continue to show innocence, be trustful, exuberance we will inherit the kingdom.

3/4 PERSECUTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE (Matthew 5:10) [Bible Reading : Persecution]INTRODUCTION In the [9] "happinesses" only two contain the reward of everlasting life , one of them is those that are willing to suffer in Jehovah's behalf or because of doing good ( Matthew 5:10Jehovah is happy with us if we resist any pressure to go against his righteous standards. What form will this persecution take? This persecution can be violent and direct or more subtle. For example the 50 brothers in Eritrea. (Acts 26:10) Other trials are less direct, such as peer pressure, ridicule or apathy. We endure because we recognize it is a requirement for everlasting life. CONCLUSION If God is on our side can we be defeated? Keep your integrity and reap the rewards. (1 Peter 4:14) 4/4 THOSE WHO HELP CHRIST'S BROTHERS (Matthew 25: 34) [Bible Reading Sheep & Goats]INTRODUCTION Jesus described how he will judge people during the tribulation as either "sheep" or goats" ( Matthew 25: 31-33, 35, 36). To inherit God's kingdom we need to help the anointed ones. [/u] << w15 3/15 p. 25-26 [Sheep & Goats]>>[li] Translation - over 700 languages[/li] [li]Construction[/li] [li]Ministry - 1,841,180,235 hours [/li] [li]Finances[/li] [li] Sheperding - 113,000 congregations[/li] [li]Meetings [/li] [li]Hospital Liaison Committees [/li] [li]Bethel[/li] [/ul] Isaiah 61: 5 "Strangers will stand and Shepherd your flocks" these "strangers" are the members of the Great Crowd that support Christs brothers.

(new arrangement)<< SONG #92: “Preach the Word” >>(2 Timothy 4:2)1. God has commanded us this day; He has given us a charge to obey. At all times, be ready to impart The reason for the hope within your heart. (CHORUS) So preach the Word, Oh, how vital that all hear! Preach the Word, As this system’s end draws near. Preach the Word, Help the meek to understand. Preach the Word, Throughout the land! 2. Seasons of trouble we will face; Opposition may bring shame and disgrace. Though preaching may out of season seem, Our trust is in our God, who is supreme. (Chorus) 3. Seasons of favor we will see, And the need for us to teach, there will be. << SONG #60: He Will Make You Strong >>(1 Peter 5:10)1. There was a reason why God brought the truth to you And called you from the darkness to the light. Within your heart, he saw the yearning you then had To search for him and practice what is right. You promised him in prayer to do his will; He helped you then, and he will help you still. (CHORUS) With Jesus’ blood He bought you, to God you now belong. So he will make you firm, and he will make you strong. He’ll guide you and protect you, as he has all along. Yes, he will make you firm, and he will make you strong. 2. God gave his own beloved Son in your behalf; On this account, He wants you to succeed. If He did not withhold the gift of His dear Son, Then never doubt He’ll give the strength you need. He won’t forget the faith and love you’ve shown; He will not fail to care for all His own. (Chorus) (See also Rom. 8:32; 14:8, 9; Heb. 6:10; 1 Pet. 2:9.)<< [Bible Reading ]>>
