QUESTION Were people with black skin cursed?

ANSWER: No, Noah cursed Canaan NOT Ham; Canaan's descendants were not black.

When Noah woke up from his wine and learned what his youngest son had done to him, he said: “Cursed be Canaan. Let him become the lowest slave to his brothers.” - Genesis 9:24-25

Ham was the father of four sons, Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. (Ge 10:6; 1Ch 1:8). Canaan was not black skinned, nor were his descendants who settled in the land that became known as Palestine. (Gen. 10:15-19). Black skinned people skin descended from Ham’s other sons, Cush and probably also Put, whose descendants settled in Africa (Nah. 3:9). Neither Cush nor Put were mentioned in the above incident.
