9:20 -> Music-Video Presentation #1 RC 2019 : #54 -- #7 -- #2 www.jw.org/en/library/videos/#en/mediaitems/VODConvMusic/pub-jwbcov_201905_26_VIDEO9:40 CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS: Why Jehovah Is “the Happy God” ( 1 Timothy 1:11) INTRODUCTION The world crumbles around us, yet those that worship Jehovah can always find reason to rejoice! What is true joy? Unlike "circumstantial joy", godly joy is not dependent on external and often transitory elements. True or godly joy is a fruitage of the spirit, it stems from knowing we haventhe truth, are pleasing God, and that our kingdom hope is sure. It should not be confused with having a cheerful disposition, its not found in constantly smiling (like the proverbial sad comedian), it is part of the new personality rooted in Christ. Example : The Thessalonians: They prepared to face persecution with " Joy of holy spirit" ( 1 These 1:6) by (a) imitating good examples and (b) and relied on holy spirit # VIDEO WELCOME MESSAGE - Steven Llett : Over the past four years we have examined qualities that endear us to Jehovah. This year's theme focuses on joy ( Phil 4:4 ; Neh 8:10). In the near future our faith will be tested as never before godly joy will sustained us through all the tests that come our way.
Example : The first century apostles
It is possible to "always" be rejoicing because it isn't dependent on external things (not Even our brothers) but on Gods spirit. To obtain holy spirit we have to draw close to God (James 4:8) and give him exclusive devotion. We aare thankful to our "happy god" for having made us in his image with the capacityntomfeelmand express joy. “Serve Jehovah with rejoicing. Come into his presence with joyful shouting” - Psalms 100:2 Why can Jehovah be called happy ( 1 Timothy 1:11)? 1) He finds joy in his perfect creative works and is determined to keep his joy (Deut 32:4, Psalms 102:31)
2) He finds joy in his generosity (Act 20:35, Psalms 102:31)
3) Jehovahs heart is made glad by the faithfulness of his servants (Prov 23:15, Psalms 102:31)
4) Jehovahs never does anything to spoil his own happines. He is always able to see the light beyond the storm. REVIEW CONVENTION PROGRAM Blessing if we continue to rejoice the God of love and peace will be with us ( 2 Cor 13:11),

10:15 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy?INTRODUCTION We have many reasons for true joy which is anchored in the sayings of Jehovah yet Satan also offers us joy. Any measures to find joy in wealth, extreme views of work, wrong doing or friendships with the world is a false joy short-lived. This synposium contrasts with what the world teaches about joy with what God's word teaches. - why do the world's way of finding joy not work? - am I pursuing what truly contributes to joy? INTRO The world proposes pursing wealth will make you happy (Luke 12 16:11 )
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (A) The Miller family: A brother reacts to the offer of more money through secular work.
Pursuing money cannot bring as happiness as it goes contrary to Jehovahs advice. It can lead to the snare of our spending excessive amounts of time at work to the detriment of spiritual activities. On the other hand Jesus highhlighted the deep and lasting joy comes from focusing* on spiritual activities brings (Mat 6:22)
* The Greek word for focused means single or simple
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (B)
A simple life brings us happiness because it helps us avoid the anxieties of maintaining our lifestyle (Ecclesiastes 5:12). When offered opportunities for more lucrative secular activities pray and consider the repercussions.

10:15 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy?
INTRO Many in the world would give in to pressure or temptation to do wrong if they feel that was to their advantage, especially if they thought no one would find out. But does this lead to lasting happiness?
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (A) Ben gives in to is pressure from his boss to be dishonest.
Wrongdoing does not lead to true joy not leads because it leads to a bothered conscience. Our inner sense of what is right or wrong. Like a "law written in our hearts" it helps us evaluate any situation in life and judge us accordingly (compare Romans 2:15: Psalms 19:8). If we repeatedly ignore our conscience it will malfunction and become insensitive and it will not recognise dangers that will damage our relationship with Jehovah. A clean conscious brings us self respect, dignity and real joy.
How to safeguard our consciences
- study bible principles and meditate on how to apply them. - sensitized our conscience by learning to love Jehovahs view on matters - be convince that living by Jehovahs standards is the best way of life (Psalms 19:8)
What are the benefits of having a clean conscience?
- we are not ashamed to give a witness (2 Cor 12:1 ) - we gain peace of mind - have the trust and respect of others - we know Jehovah is pleased with us
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (B)Ben benefits from being honest (Jeb 13:18)
At times it takes real courage to be honest and face whatever consequences that incurs but be determined to "conductnyourself honestly in allmthinggs" whether others observe your conduct or not (Hebrews 13:18).There is no pillow so soft as a clean conscience!

10:15 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy? - (PART 3 OF 4) Meaningful Work (Ecclesiastes 4:6 ; 1 Corinthians 15:58)
INTRO Work is a gift from Godmand hisnword teaches us to have a balanced view of it. However the world teaches extremembiews of work. Some will work to excess to the neglect of their health and welllbeing, others will avoid workmat al costs and they work hard at not working.
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (A) Ben's attitude towards secular work robs him of joy.
While being industrious and working hard is good we must not sacrifice needed rest and spiritual activities for secular work (Ecclesiastes 4:6). Excessive work is like "chasing after the wind" and will not bring happiness Ecclesiastes 4:13) We accept with joy our obligation to provide for our families by means of some kind of secular work, but we also need to remember there is more to life than work.
Finding balance
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (B) Ben benefits from working hard secularly and in spiritual pursuits. The picture of his family on his desk at work reminded him one of the reason he was working.
Even if you have a job you do not like, it is still possible enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you are pleasing Jehovah and providing for those we love. Being busy in the Lord's work affords us the joy of giving (Acts 20:35). After working hard supporting kingdom interests we experience "the good tired" of knowing we have done well.
CONCLUSION Jehovah created us to enjoy both work and leisure (Ecclesiastes 3:13). Keep your life balanced and younwill enjoy all of the work you do even more.

10:15 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy? People boast of thousands of virtual friends and somemseek friends amongst workmates and colleagues, yetntrue friendshipmis in short supply. - What is true friendship?
- Where should I look for true friends
- How can my choice of friends effect my joy?
# VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (A) Ben is uncomfortable with coworkers Looking to the world as a source of true friends will inevitably prove to be disappointing since they ar3nofteb based on selfish motives ( Prov 19:10, 11). Worldly friendship can be disappointing and shallow and can damage ournrelationshipmwith Jehovah 1 Cor 15:33* Cultivating friendship with those that do not worship Jehovah is like mixing oil and water. Christian friends are more than mere companions / acquaintances, they share our faith, our values our love for Jehovah and our hopes ( Prov 18:24). They supoort and encourage us in our service to Jehovah. * Ftn "corrupt food morals" # VIDEO DRAMATIZATION (B) Highlightss how having true friends effects our joy CONCLUSION True friendships are a precious source of joy because they are based on a solid foundation of confidence and trust: - we worship the knlyntrue God - We speak the same pure language of truth - we adhere to Jehovahs high moral standards - have the same hope for the future Friendships in the world are often based on shared interests but true friendships are based on common values and support one another physically, memotionallymand spiritually ( Proverbs 17:17 ).

11:15 DRAMATIC BIBLE READING: “Jehovah Caused Them to Rejoice”( Ezra 1:1–6:22; Haggai 1:2-11; 2:3-9 ; Zechariah 1:12-16; 2:7-9; 3:1, 2; 4:6, 7) www.jw.org/en/library/videos/#en/mediaitems/PrgEvtFeatured/pub-co-r20_2_VIDEOo 11:45 Rejoice in Jehovah’s Acts of Salvation ( Psalm 9:14; 34:19 ; 67:1, 2 ; Isaiah 12:2 ) INTRODUCTION In today's world of increasing problems people ling for "a saviour". Jehovahs people rejoice having been found by the one True saviour, the "grand saviour". Indeed it is a part of his identity, to want to save his true worshippers ( Psalm 9:14). We can be confident it is Jehovahs desire to save us and he has the ability and means tto do so we can truly rejoice. Past examples if Jehovahs saving acts on a national levelPast examples if Jehovahs saving acts for INDIVIDUALS Psalms 34:18, 19 says Jehovahs rescues the righteous "one" (individual) as well as groups. We can pray to Jehovah with our specific concerns. Although Jehovah's loyal love moves him to save his servants we must not take that to mean he will save us from all tests. If he did this would open him up to the accusations Satan launched against Job . Thus in many situations Jehovah may stenthen us to withstand the trial, comforting his servants as the bear their pain [Brother shares that he lost his own father in death]. We can be happy innthe knowledge that our God is with us. # VIDEO EXPERIENCE Blind sister from Malawi, endures and finds joy under trials.( James 5:11 ; song #76 ) # VIDEO EXPERIENCE Family suffers in a refugee camp but is freed to go to the convention 12:15 SONG #148: Jehovah Provides Escape and IntermissionJEHOVAH'S SAVING ACTS INNTHE FUTURE We face momentous events (( Mat 24:25 ; Rev :10 5:11 ) In South Korea 19,352 suffered imsprisionment with five losing their lives due to the harsh cckndition. Those who die faithfully are safe in his hands ( Psalms 67:1 ). For those going through severe persecution now Jehovah shows his hand responding to their prayers and giving them strength. Experiences : - Prison songs - Brother Skirnokowv ( Heb 13:6 ). Quotation rr sign of the son of man CONCLUSION Whether we face death or are delivered at the Great tribulation, see can be confident we will always rejoice in Jehovahs acts of salvation Isaiah 12:2 ; Isaiah 54: 17 )

4:00 “Those Who Promote Peace Have Joy”—Why? ( Proverbs 12:20; James 3:13-18;; 1 Peter 3:10, 11) INTRODUCTION Our peace is a modern day miracle in this divided world. This is possible because of The peaceful relationship with Jehovah ( 1 Thess 5:23 ). As imperfect people however we must "seek peace and pursue it" making the needed effort. We must be active not passive in our efforts to create peace ( Matthew 5:9). PEACE DESTROYERS Like Moses work hard on godly qualities, be patient and wait on Jehovah. PROMOTING PEACE Be a peace maker and make Jehovah happy James 3:13-18;# VIDEO INTERVIEW Brother fights negative feelings. Be a peace promoter now have joy forever ( Psalms 37:29)
