"A People for his name" - Acts 15:14

Moses ascended the mountain he is told to offer the people a covenent arrangement. - Ex 19: 3, 5, 6
Moses returns and the older men, as representatives of the entire nation, agree.
The people are told to sanctify themselves and prepare to meet Jehovah on the third day "in a dark cloud" - v9-13
The people congregate at the base of the mountain which smokes and rocks [Ex 19:16-19 ; Ps 68:8]
Moses ascends the mountain and instructed to go back down and impress upon the people that they must not try to ascend.—Ex 19:20-24.
God's angels then pronounces the “Ten Words” from the midst of the fire and the cloud within the hearing of the people. [ [Ex 20:22; De 4:12, 36,Deut 5]
Frightened the people requested that God no longer speak with them in this manner.
The people are then dismissed and they return to their tents.
