the Bible does not agree with the idea that there are many acceptable religions, all "different roads leading to the same place." Rather it teaches that there is"one Lord and one faith" and "one body" of believers (Eph 4:3-6; 2:16; Rm. 12:5; Jude 3-4). "One body" in scriptures indicate a unity in purpose and togetherness. In Hebrew and Greek the term "congregation" (QAHAL, ECCLESIA) always denotes an organized body or group. Christ showed that we would be able to identify True Christians and they would be separated from the weeds or false Christians at "the conclusion of the system of things...and the righteous ones would then shine as brightly as the sun" (Mat.13:24-30, 36-43; Dan.12:1,3,10; Mal.3:18).
Now, what are the Scriptural evidence we can use in identifying the one true religion? These are not complicated.
Scriptures say true worshipers could be identified in at least three main ways: Love, Truth (Jn.4:23; 17:17), and Fruitage (Mt.7:16ff). Conversely, by these we can also identify the false.
The True religion would be primarily known for it's love toward all (Jn.13:34,35; 1Jn.3:10-12; 4:7, 8). This would include their enemies (Mat.5:44-48; Rom.12:17-20; 1Pet.2:21-23; 3:8- 9). It would not participate in or condone carnal war (2Cor.10:3,4; Isa.2:4).
Apply this basic evidence to what happened in both world wars and current conflicts. People of the same religions met on battlefields and slaughtered one another because of nationalistic differences. Each side claimed to be Christian, and each side was supported by its clergy, who claimed that God was on their side. The definition of a "Christian" is "one who does what Christ would do": WWJD (1 Pet.2:21). That slaughter of "Christian" by "Christian" is rotten fruitage. It is a denial of any claim to being the true Church (cf. Mat.26:52). No Christian would continue to associate with these religions (Rev.18:4).
Another evidence is that the true religion would be made up of people who would all be in agreement on doctrine. It would not have members who believe differently on abortion, war, homosexuality or morals. Its members would not "agree to disagree" (1Cor.1:10; 2Cor.13:11; Phil.1:27). True Christians would be separated from the world by "truth" from God's Word the Bible (Jn.17:17; 4:23). All its teachings would be based on the Bible (2 Tim. 3:14-16; Gal. 1:8, 9).
The true religion would have a reputation for promoting exceptional morality in its members (1Cor.6:9,10; Eph.5:3-5; 2 Pet.3:14; 2Cor.7:1; 2Tim.3:5). Does a religion *require* their congregation members to live moral lives, not allowing practicers of homosexuality, fornication, or adultery to be accepted members of their congregation? Or do they turn a blind eye? If so, their "fruitage" would show they are not true Christians.
Doctrinal and moral standards would be assured from within by removing the unrepentant from association (1Cor.5:11-13, 2Thes. 3:6, Tit.3:10-11, Mat.18:17).
True Christians would be associated with God's name: (Jn.17:3,6,26; Acts 15:14/Isa.55:5; 1 Peter 2:9/Ex.19:4- 5; Ps.83:18). They would not use Bibles which have removed the Most Holy Divine Name of God. Replacing the Divine Name with the common noun "Lord" cannot be justified by any translational principles so it is a blatant "subtraction" from God's word which brings a curse on anyone who approves it (Rev.22:18).
The true Church would be engaged in an unprecedented teaching activity (Matthew 24:14, 28:19, 20). Witnesses right now are performing the greatest Bible education work ever done in all human history!
There are more scripture evidences, however these are plenty to show which religion meets the requirements of being the True religion.
Apostate Christianity has neither the spiritual strength nor the support of God's holy spirit to motivate people to follow the truthful teachings of Jesus Christ. For this reason, the result in Christendom is not true Christianity but counterfeit believers, "weeds" unfit for the Kingdom.-Mat13:24ff.
I have examined almost every religion and I have not seen another one whose members as a whole "practice what they preach," or even unitedly agree on what they should preach. I believe that only Jehovah's Witnesses can meet these requirements.
Sincerely,
BAR-ANERGES

Greetings,
As usual, in your link we find the typical misrepresentations of the Watchtower by the anti-JW cultists.
First, these criticisms of the JWs commit a logical fallacy of Anachronism. Even the most educated and racially tolerant people and institutions of the early 1900's reflected what we know today as a biased viewpoint and terminology. So any criticism of common terminology used by literature written in the 1920s is misleading and hypocritical.
Next, the WT of 7/15/02 clearly stated the Witnesses’ doctrine: "We must and do recognize all of the human family as one race."
From it's very beginning the JWs believed that people of all races were equal.
You can see how dishonest these critics are when you note that they ALWAYS leave out the fact that the Witnesses' doctrine of the “restitution of the races” was actually a belief THAT WHITES WOULD BE RESTORED TO A DARKER SKIN COLOR!
"...the extreme whiteness of some peoples is not to be considered the original standard, but A DEFLECTION ... and the result of sin." (WT 7/15/1902, WT 4/1/1914)
“perhaps all the white people of the earth are white because they are suffering from some hereditary disease.”–g1/28/1925; 270, g11/5/1924; 71
Now, there was absolutely no racism in the WT 4/15/1900!
You can see from the quote that there were "as many as a hundred colored brethren on the WT lists" and the article went on to say: "The volunteer service is open to all of the Lord's dear people, white and colored."
The article explicitly stated: “[the black JWs] rightly realized we have not the slightest of race prejudice, and that we love the colored brethren with just the same warmth of heart that we love the white.”
The invitation was for volunteers to hand out reading material outside churches and was limited to white churches NOT due to a racist view, but it was a practical one dealing with offering more free literature to those who would benefit from *reading* material. It would do little good to hand out books to those who could not read. So the issue was one of education, NOT race!
Showing that it was not a racial issue at all are the words which were deceitfully left out of the quote: "Similarly, the exclusion of Roman Catholic churches was not intended as any slight...We excluded Roman Catholic churches because the vast majority of their attendants are either too ignorant or too bigoted to read and think for themselves. True, much of this would apply also to Protestants; but the percentage of hopefuls is so much greater as to justify the enormous expense involved in this circulation of free reading matter."
So WHITE Catholic churches were also excluded! Was excluding white Catholics also racist? It was due to their being unwilling to accept truth. How dishonest for any Anti-JW cultist to misrepresent this as a racist view!
Next, in the quote from the WT 1901 you will notice that it was NOT the words of a JW but the words of a non-Witness religious magazine quoted by the WT!!" The statement about “the *****...being gross and deceitful” was “from the Literary Digest and was said by Sir H. H. Johnson! (WT 8/15/1901; 295-)
So the Watchtower was just quoting the published thoughts of some Catholic or Protestant! How hypocritical to criticize the Watchtower when it simply cited one of your own religious predecessor's words!
Next, this link dishonestly rips out of context the quotations of the 1902 WT (7/15/1902; 215-219).
First this article was REFUTING a book entitled “The *****–a Beast” which was written by a Protestant and published by the American Book and Bible House!! So while the JWs were preaching against racism this critic’s religious predecessors openly promoted racism! How hypocritical!
Even the partial quote shows that the “qualities of superiority” that “the white race exhibits over other races” “are not such as can be pointed to as in all respects admirable...”
The WT states:
“Is it not a fact that ...the colored man resembles Abel, and the white man Cain?-that the colored man resembles Jesus, and the white man Nero?...If the ***** is more peaceable he is...nearer to the standard which the Christian is to copy.”
“interbreeding gives better results, by scattering and offsetting the weaknesses of each tribe or family.”
It is unbelievable that someone can try to twist quotes from this article trying to paint the JWs as racist! These anti-JW cultists clearly prey on people who are so gullible and ignorant that they never double check the source references!
I’ve got more but no room. If anyone else would like to post the rest of this writers’ misrepresentations in their answer e-mail me.
Yours,
BAR-ANERGES

#ANSWER As one of Jehovah's Witnesses the following outlines the reasons why I believe we (and we alone) have the truth:
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." (New Living Translation ©2007)
1) Jehovah's Witnesses meet the biblical command to be an organisation dominated by love as demonstrated by their refusal to partake in any political wars. Jehovah's Witnesses are the only Christian religion that has never participated in any war. -- John 13:35; Exodus 20:13; Math 5: 44
2) Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religion preaching the Kingdoms on a truely unparelled global scale -- Matthew 28:19-20 Acts 5:42; Rom. 10:10; Heb. 13:15; Isa. 43:10-12.
3) They are the only religion that has embraced and publically preaches the divine name JEHOVAH -- Psalm 83:18 Isa. 26:4; 42:8, AS; Ex. 6:3
4) Jehovah's Witnesses keep completely free from politics. -- Jas. 4:4; 1 John 2:15; John 15:19; 17:16
5) They are the only religion that obey the bibles madate to "abstain from blood", refusing to take blood into body through mouth or veins since this violates God's laws -- Acts 15:28,29 ; Gen. 9:3, 4; Lev. 17:14
6) Jehovah's Witnessees have high moral standards -- 1 Cor. 6:9, 10; Heb. 13:4; 1 Tim. 3:2; Prov. 5:1-23
7) They hold that Jehovah's Witnesse beliefs reflect the first century model as outlined in the bible:
8 ) Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible is God's Word and that all doctrines should be based solely on scripture(2 Tim. 3:16, 17; 2 Pet. 1:20, 21; John 17:17). They are the only religion that hasn't embrased Pagan celebrations into their worship or practices.
9) Only Jehovah's Witnesses happy embrase use, glorify and regularly preach pronouncing the DIVINE NAME; Psalms 83:18; Math 6:9)
10) Only Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus to be God's only begotten son that died to save mankind. They hold that Jesus inferior to his Father. (Luke 3:21-22; Matt. 3:17; John 8:42; 14:28; 20:17; 1 Cor. 11:3; 15:28; Col. 1:15; Rev. 3:14.; Jehovah's Witnessed do not believe God to be "three Gods in one" and reject the teaching of the Trinity as totally unscriptural.
*Jehovah's Witnesses consider all their members "ministers" and believe preaching the gospel is part of the Christian calling. (Math 28:19:20 Matthew 23:9)
Jehovah's Witnesses believe God's Kingdom is actually a Government under Christ. They believe this Government will rule earth in righteousness and peace Isa. 9:6, 7; 11:1-5; Dan. 7:13, 14; Matt. 6:10 Ps. 72:1-4; Rev. 7:9, 10, 13-17; 21:3, 4
*Jehovah's Witensses believe "the meek shall inherit the earth" and that soon this will be a peaceful place for millions to live in paradise under God's rule (Matthew 6: 10). They believe the earth will NEVER be destroyed or depopulated. Mat 5: 5 Eccl. 1:4; Isa. 45:18; Ps. 78:69
*Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in the "immortality of the soul" The believe the word "soul" is just another word for "person" or "life"; They believe that the human soul (the person) ceases to exist at death Ezek. 18:4; Eccl. 9:10; Ps. 6:5; 146:4; John 11:11-14 Matthew 10:28. )
*JW believe God is love and that eternal torture in hell is not a biblical teaching (Jer 7:21); they understand that "Hell" as mentioned in the bible is simply mankind's common grave Job 14:13, Dy; Rev. 20:13, 14, AV (margin))
*Jehovah's Witnesess reject all celebrations and ceremonies with pagain origins (2 Cor 6:15)
*They reject the use of idols in any part of their worship (1 Cor 1:14)
*Jehovah's Witnesses apply the bible principle of removing unrependent members that insist on living contrary to scriptural norms (1 Cor 6: 9, 10)
*Jehovah's Witnesses believe all Christians should maintain high moral standards; 1 Cor. 6:9, 10; Heb. 13:4; 1 Tim. 3:2; Prov. 5:1-23
*Jehvah's Witnesses do not believe in modern day miraculous gifts such as "speaking in tongues" and "faith healing"; they believe love is the identifying mark of true Christians (John 13:35 Exodus 20:13)
*All Jehovah's Witnesses are considered "Ministers"; they do not have a clergy class that is forbidden to marry. They have no clergy class and believe special titles which would be improper for true christians. Matt. 23:8-12; 20:25-27; Job 32:21, 221 Tim 4:1-3
*Jehovah's Witnesses believe that true Christianity should have no part in interfaith movements 2 Cor. 6:14-17; 11:13-15; Gal. 5:9; Deut. 7:1-5

**DETAILS**
Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians. However they are not generally considered to be "mainstream" Christians. Both mainstream Christians and Jehovah's Witnesses claim to believe and follow the bible, however there are marked differences between both groups.
*Mainstream Christians believe Jesus to be BOTH Almighty God and Almighty God's son while JW believe Jesus to be the Son of God (Luke 3:21-22)
*Mainstream Christians believe in a TRINITY (three Gods in one) while JW believe there to be only One True God and Creator (Deut 6:4)
*Mainstream Christians believe God tortures the wicked forever in HELLFIRE JW believe God is love and that eternal burning in hell is not a biblical teaching (Jer 7:21)
*Mainstream Christians rarely refer to God by his personal NAME (Yawheh/Jehovah) The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God's name should be Sanctified, honoured and praised at every opportunity (Math 6:9)
*Mainstream Christian religions believe all good people will spend eternity with God in HEAVEN Jehovah's Witnesses believe "the meek shall inherit the EARTH" (Matthew 5:3 )
*Mainstream Christians Generally do not PREACH the gospel Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for their public ministry (Math 28:19:20)
*Mainstream Christian religions teach the "immortality of the SOUL" Jehovah's Witnesses believe the soul can be destroyed (Matthew 10:28 .)
*Most mainstream Christians have no objection to participating in War or politics Jehovah's Witnesses insist on remaining politically neurtral (John 15:19)
*Mainstream Christians usually have a human leader (a pope, an deacon, a Bishop) JW only recognise Jesus as their leader (Mat 23:10)
*Mainstream Christians have many pagan rituals incorporated into their religious rituals Jehovah's Witnesess reject all celebrations and ceremonies with pagain origins (2 Cor 6:15)
*Many mainstream Christians churches use a lot of idols in their worship and they venerate the cross JW reject the use of idols (1 Cor 1:14)
*Mainstream Christians have a clergy/laity class of ministers JW consider all their members ministers and all partake in preaching and teaching (Matthew 23:9)
*Mainstream Christians have no formal system to ensure their churches are free from members that are unscriptural. Jehovah's Witnesses apply the bible principle of removing unrependent members that insist on living contrary to scriptural norms (1 Cor 6: 9, 10)

UNIQUE
They are the only religion where ALL members are considered ordained ministers and all members are required to publically preach the good news.
They are the only religion who have a modern day leadership has gone on record as saying that any participation or support of WAR or voting is incompatible with being a Christian.
To my knowledge they are the only religion that believe only 144,000 individual will go to heaven.
They are one of the few religions that do not believe that humans possess an immortal SOUL.
They are one of the few modern day religions that are NOT trinitarians. The only one to my knowledge with international membership in the millions.

Jehovah's Witnesses have NEVER claimed we are the only religion that preach. We are the only religion that preach the truth of God's Kingdom; No other religion has ALL its members preach on such a worldwide scale on a regular basis in so many countries. #2 Never changing is not proof your religion is true. Jesus apostles changed their minds over many issues. This is because the true religion is progressive as God reveals his truths to his people. One could say that changing is proof that a religion is true. The Truth doesn't change, human understanding of that truth does. #3 Rev. J. J. Ross a bombastic Baptist preacher in Hamiltion USA, wrote a scurrilous pamphlet in which he made many false accusations against Russell in 1912. Acting on the advice of his legal counselor, J. F. Rutherford, Brother Russell laid a criminal charge of defamatory libel against Ross. As the complainant, Russell attended the trial to give evidence, and he submitted to a long cross-examination of roughly five hours. After the trial, his Baptist opponent falsely charged that Russell had committed perjury when asked about his knowledge of Greek. This “perjury” charge was published in Ross’ second pamphlet attacking Russell. In it the cleric misquoted what had been said in court, giving the cross-examiner’s question and Russell’s reply as follows: Q. “Do you know the Greek?” A. “Oh, yes.” By omitting the word “alphabet” from this question, Ross sought to establish an exact contradiction with a later question and answer: Q. “Are you familiar with the Greek language?” A. “No.” What really happened is clear from the official record (Police Court of the City of Hamilton, Ontario, March 17, 1913). It shows that C. T. Russell did not commit perjury. The cross-examination (by George Lynch-Staunton, K. C.) went as follows, according to the book Jehovah’s Witnesses in Canada, by M. James Penton: “Question: ‘You don’t profess, then, to be schooled in the Latin language?’ Answer: ‘No, Sir.’ Question: ‘Or in Greek?’ Answer: ‘No, Sir.’” After this, Russell was asked if he knew individual Greek letters, and he said that he “might make a mistake of some of them.” According to the book just cited, shortly thereafter “Lynch-Staunton asked Russell the question: ‘Are you familiar with the Greek language?’ Russell’s reply was an emphatic ‘No.’” So, there was no question about matters. C. T. Russell had not committed perjury as Ross falsely charged after the trial. The case itself later went before a grand jury, which declined to return a bill of indictment. So, the case never went on for trial before the Supreme Court of Ontario. Under legal practice in Ontario, only the crown attorney is allowed to speak before the grand jury. We do not know how the case was presented to it or what caused that body to reject it. No decision ever was rendered on the merits of the case. In his subsequent writings, Ross treated this inconclusive result as though he had won a great victory. He and others apparently chose to forget that Russell was not the man on trial. Source : pastorrussell.blogspot.com/2008/0... ======================================... Footnote: Charles Taze Russell had NOTHING to do with the New World Translation of Jehovah's witnesses since he died on October 31, 1916. The New World Translation (NWT) was translated and released in 5 volumes between 1950 and 1961.
