Monotheism I think is unique to judaism/christianity* Uniquely Christianity doesn't only say that there is one supreme God, but that there EXISTS only one True God (any others "rivals" being fictional). #QUESTION Was ancient monotheistic? No, the Zoroastrianism EVOLVED to be thus but didn't start out that way. Experts point out that "Zoroastrianism contains both monotheistic and dualistic features." For example they believed in Ahriman is the ancient God of Darkness. There is absolutely no verifiable evidence that the Persian prophet Zoroaster "invented monotheism" indeed as the founder of Zoroastrianism he lived (630 - c.550 BC) hundreds of years AFTER the Jewish system was up and running. www.hyperhistory.com/online_n2/people_n2/persons1_n2/zoroaster.htmlSo the ancient Hebrews were worshipping one unequalled Creator and God long before any other peoples. If one system was influencial on the other the dates indicate that it would have been the Jewish system influencing Zoroastrianism not the other way round. * I say this because both worshipped the same Abrahamic God (YHWH)
