• High Priest Eliashib allowed Tobiah, who was an unbeliever

and an opposer, to influence him



• Eliashib gave Tobiah a space in a temple dining hall


• Nehemiah threw all of Tobiah’s furniture out,

cleansed the room, and returned it to its proper use



• Nehemiah continued to remove all uncleanness from Jerusalem
