9:40 SYMPOSIUM: Future Events That Will Require Courage ...Day's theme: “Be courageous and strong of heart. Yes, hope in Jehovah”— PSALM 27:14 As highlighted by the day's theme we will need courage to face the coming (7) world events. This symposium focuses on a) what we know about the events b) what we do not know about each event c) how to prepare now for the coming events. PART 1 The Cry of “Peace and Security!” (1 Thessalonians 5:2, 3) www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZsK2K9y7qs&t=17s" begins with the destruction of Babylon and ends with Armageddon. It will be sudden for those that are not spiritually awake. The tribulation directly follows this cry (so any declarations obviously don't meet the criteria). The cry will only be a vemeer. We don't know what events will lead up to this event or who will make it. To prepare for this we must remain neutral. [li] VIDEO Elder Meeting Series #1 Neutrality - Pressure to sign a petition against an employment bill[/li] To strengthen our courage now 1) Be active defenders of God's kingdom as the only solution to mankind's problems (Isaiah 2) 2) Reject propaganda that promotes human projects for peace and security will be successful (UN or science & technology) 3) Remain spiritually alert [/ul]

PART 5 Armageddon (Revelation 16:14, 16) [/div] Revelation refers to the propaganda that pushes people to take a position against God (Ez 38:4, 23), this event climaxes in the ultimate santification of Jehovah's name, the battle of Armageddon. We know a "great crowd" will survive and that Christs brothers will participate in the battle (Rev 2: 25). The bible speaks of impressive celestral events, we don't know if this will be literal or if it is symbolic (compare Zech 14:2) [li] VIDEO # Young Brad Munroe worried about final instructions; encouraged by Jehoshaphat's battle (2 Chron)[/li] Meditate on Jehovah's past saving acts (Jehoshaphat, Daniel from the Lions, 2 Pet 2; Lk 21: 28, Ps 68:20) [/ul]

11:20 PUBLIC BIBLE DISCOURSE: The Resurrection Hope Imparts Courage—How? ( Mark 5:35-42 ; Luke 12:4, 5 ; John 5:28, 29; 11:11-14) How terrible is the pain of a parent such as Jaurus, who lost his only child to death, but note the comforting words of Jesus to exert rise faith that he, Jesus has power over death itself, something he then demonstrated. - what is the condition of the dead? - is the hope of the resurrection something real - how...,? Knowing the true condition of the dead helps us to overcome fear. Jesus compared the death of his friend Lazarus to a sleep, not to torture or to glory in heavens but to a profound sleep (John 11: 11-14). The bible never speaks of man possesing an immortal soul, rather we are a soul and when we die we are no longer consciouse or capable of any activity (Ecc 9:5). Jehovah can remember and re-create those that have died, afterall if humans can record images of people long dead how much more our great God (John 5:28, 29) The dead are in the memory inexhaustable of God who can remember the name of the billions of stars. All those God loves are alive in his memory (compare Luke 20: 37-38). Not only has Jehovah the power he has the profound desire to resurrect those he loves. The resurrection hope gives us courage to face persecution and the pressures of this world dominated by Satan (Luke 2: 4, 5). We know nothing can seperate us from God's love, Paul and many first century Christians had courage because of this hope, preferring to die rather than compromise their faith. Modern day examples are Wolfgan, beheaded at just 20 years of age because of his faith. VIDEO Testimony of Felicity's family. What a marvelous moment that will be to welcome back our loved ones, but this depends on our keeping faith.
