1:30 PUBLIC BIBLE DISCOURSE: How Does God Feel About Religion? << Imitate Jehovah [Circut Assembly 2015-16] >>"The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans+ and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world." - James 1:27 INTRODUCTION A recent Survey identified 19 major religions and a further 10, 000 minor religions. While this may appear to give people a lot of choice, like a bubble, many find religion empty when examined. Others feel repulsed by the idea of organized religion. The problem is not however that religions are organized but that they are are not organized in the right way for the reasons. Other see God as indifferent to them and distant. Contrary to these ideas however the bible speaks about a God that is accessible and approachable (Acts 17:27) so how does God feel about religion? BABYLON THE GREAT God commands people that want a good relation with God to leave false religion (see Rev 18:4). Jehovah strongly opposes systems of worship and that also exploit people for selfish needs (Micah 3). God expects those that represent Him to speak truth. Today many people want their "ears tickled" (2 Tim 4:3) A clergy that would tell people what they want to hear such as "it doesn't matter what you do, God loves you". Jesus condemned those that took on religious titles of honor yet today we see those that take on flatering religious titles ( Mat 23:5 ) Jehovah condemns those that use His underserved kindness and use it as an excuse to do wrong. This would involve assuming Christ's sacrifice covers deliberate sins committed with no intention of change. As in Jeremiah's day, Jehovah hates worship that is corrupt and pays no attention to His commandements( Jer 6: 19, 20; comare Mat 7: 21-23 ) We want to help sincere ones to leave false religion. Jehovah loves worship that is clean and undefiled ( Jas. 1:27) Identifying clean worship- True religion should engender good fruitage such as brotherly love (Mat 7: 13-20, Jh 13:35) While many religions do an admirable job with charitable works but by far the majority of religions fail to "love their enemies" but rather support the war efforts of nations where they are located - True religions fosters a respect for God's word (John 17:17). In Jesus' day the religious leaders allowed human tradition to overshadow God's word. Relgions today promote pagan holidays. - True religion should promote high moral standards. Do all religions require members that live together to be legally married (Heb 13:4). Do they remove unrepentent sinners from their membership. - True religion highlights God's purpose (Ecc 12:13) - True religion helps people look forward to a better future. God's kingdom has united people even today. - True religion should make people better persons (Col 3: 9, 10) The above is how Jehovah and Jesus feel about religion; it would be wrong for us to turn a blind eye to corruption. Illustrationn: A local shop selling rotten produce. Would it be wrong to speak up about this inferior product? Would we not warn friends and family? It brings Jehovah great pleasure when we worship him in spirit and truth (John 4:23, 24) and many individual of their own free will will come to love and dedicate their lives to Jehovah when they hear the call to "get out" of false religion because God has a case against her.

2:40 SYMPOSIUM SYMPOSIUM : Be Obedient From the Heart to the Pattern of Teaching"But thanks to God that although you were once the slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that pattern of teaching to which you were handed over" - Romans 6:17 For Christians obedience is fundamental to gaining God's approval. This obedience is motivated by love for Jehovah and is pleasing to Him. Jehovah provides us with a "pattern" (originally referred to a seal or a mold) through his word. This form or "mold" which allows us to imitate Jehovah (Rom 6:17). Ways to show heartfelf obedience.
Pt I “Let Your Word ‘Yes’ Mean Yes” ( Mat 5:37; James 5:12) INTRODUCTION: It is impossible for God to lie, God therefore sets the ultimate standard of truth (Heb 6:18.). If we want to imitate God, we must keep our word and our promises (Mat 5:37). Our dedication is our most important committment. We said "yes" to the following questions as we came to the truth: "Do you really want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses?" to become an unbaptised Publisher. "Have you made your personal dedication to God in prayer?" "On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to do His will?" Other areas are: Our marriage vows, business contracts, Invitations, Return Visits. If we want to be close to Jehovah we must be consistent in speaking the truth anyone who is not trustworshy cannot represent Jehovah as his witness. We have however the right to keep silent at appropriate times and withhold information from those that have no right to it (Mat 12: 36, 37). Pt II Forgive One Another Freely ( Col 3:13) INTRODUCTION: How is Jehovah our Example? Jehovah has " put up" with imperfect humans. Jesus as he died prayed for those that executed him. He forgave Peter's denial, even comforting him after his resurrection, even going on to give him additional responsibilities. Steven prayed for his persecutors... In the light of this, we can conclude that just cause is no justification to not forgive, forgiving is not optional we "must" forgive since we have been forgiven us (Col 3:13),. How can we "put up" with one another? We find some kinds of personalities irritating. We need patience which helps us "continue" and tolerance helps us realize we might not know the full circumstances of a given situation. Lesson: The knowledge of a situation can completely change our view of a supposed hurt (1 Pet 3:8, 9)

2:40 SYMPOSIUM Pt III “You Must Be Holy” ( [1 Pet 1:15) INTRODUCTION: Christians strive to be holy in all their conduct because it is a reflection of our holy God ( [1 Pet 1:15) To be holy means to be sacred, separeted from sin, dedicated to God. This is not opitonal but a clear command coming from Jehovah God. Prior to the truth we were in ignorance and the opposite of holy ( verse 14). Sin mars mans reflection of divine qualities. Still we cannot be as holy as He is but be holy because He is How can we be considered holy before Jehovah? - Worship him in a clean spiritual state which can be done by availing ourselves of the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. - By maintaining a close Relationship with Him
We live in a morally corrupt world, from which we must create separation in major and minor matters. An honest self examination is vital: - Am I inclinded to follow trends promoted by the fashion industry, by the Entertainment world, or sports figures? - Would I wear clothing that would identify me as something other than one of Jehovah's Witnesses? - Has facination with special effects drawn me to see films filled with violence, spiritism, inappropriate language or immoral acts? - Am I having association with disfellowshiped one? Romans 12:1, 2 We must never take on the look or stamp of the world that opposes Jehovah's standards.

SYMPOSIUM : Be Obedient From the Heart to the Pattern of Teaching Pt IV “God Did Not Give Us a Spirit of Cowardice” ( 2 Tim 1: 6, 7) INTRODUCTION: Most people have a fear or phobia fears. As God's people we should have no spiritual fears because we are backed by the All Powerful God Jehovah (2 Tim 1: 6, 7). How can we imitate Jehovah's fearlessness? Jehovah gives us his spirit, that is, "compelling mental inclination that causes us to speak and act without fear". Although courage comes from God, it is our responsibility to keep it alive like the flames of a fire (Rom 6: 17). We do this through our spiritual activities. Paul relied on the power of God (2 Tim 1:8). If we have a spirit of cowardice, it may come from fear of man. Fear, peer pressure can effect all of us. "soundness of mind" enables us to face things "as they are, not the way you would like them to be" (see w09 5/15 p. 15 par 9). Some Young ones have mentally tried and avoid stressful situation by excessive tv viewing, drug abuse or immorality(Titus 2:12)

3:40INTRODUCTION: The spirit of this world distances us from Jehovah but we have Jehovah to help us. Still we must put up a constant struggle. How exposure to the bible's light enables us to identify and avoid the fruitless of works of darkness. to benefit from this we have to engage in serious bible study and meditation (Eph 5: 8, 9). David experience many trials but acknowledged Jehovah's helping hand and could testify how "great Jehovah's goodness is" (see Psalms 34:15) Areas that the bible's light can benefit us. - The bible can help us make needed changes in our life and display genuiine forgiveness. - Energises to express love to our brothers in need and support the world wide work. - Use our energy and assest to aid those in our community spiritually. - Make sure our conversations stay on a positive encourageing upbuilding note - make us receptive to counsel Our meditation on God's word may reveal new ways we can display goodness and thus our worship will not become stagnant (Eph 5:2, 9) We can testify that Jehovah has been very good to us (Psalms 25:8)) INTERVIEW Sister that temporarily lost zeal for the ministry and how Jehovah's goodness helped overcome. Reject uncleaness (Eph 5: 3-12, 15)We must avoid: - pornography - visit strip clubs, massage parlours - sensual films, books, fantacies... - sinful thoughts and actions WARNING EXAMPLES cain rejected a personal warning from Jehovah and became involved in wrongdoing (Gen 4: 6, 7). Jehovah doesn't force us to accept counsel and paid a high price (Lk 11:50, 51). When we receive scriptural counsel appreciate it, view it as evidence of Jehovah's love for us and quickly apply it. King Uzziah had much success in his rulership but it appears that this prosperity lead him to become haughty (2 Chon 26: 4, 5, 16-23). A good record of service to Jehovah can be spoiled by becoming haughty. Jehovah wants us to happy, to be happy we must keep perceiving what God's will is for us. This will effect our priorities and how we use our time ( Eph 5: 16, 17). Then as sons and daughters of Jehovah God we will have the prospect of living as long as Jehovah lives.
