What are your perceptive powers? The apostle Paul referred to “Solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers [Lit., “sense organs”] trained to distinguish both right and wrong.” ( Heb. 5:14, ftn.) This refers to the application of knowledge, the extraction of a principle and the ability to apply this to our lives. It is not simply knowledge or the power of judgement (the application of a law) but is the ability to know what is right and what is wrong from Jehovah's viewpoint. What are the benefits of training your perceptions? Jehovah's people therefore can see Jehovah's viewpoint regarding things such as same sex marriage, use of tobacco and drugs, the belief in the theory of evolution, or the viewing of pornographic images (compare Genesis 2: 24, Genesis 1: 24, , 2 Corinthians 7:1Col 3:5) What is the difference between Jehovah's Witnesses and other religions? Jehovah's Witnesses are people that are determined to adhere to God's standards of righteousness. We can see the distinction between those that follow Jehovah's righteous principles and those that don't and the postitive impact this has had on their lives. (Malachi 3:18). Further more JW stand out as distinct from the world. - They do not fight in wars? - They have a high standard of morality? - They do not smoke or abuse (or even sell drugs)?
Soon all the earth will live by Jehovah's standards and there will be peace.

Some situations require precise actions. Jehovah teaches us to act promptly in avoiding spiritual danger. Paul wrote to "flee" from threats to our spirituality (compare 1 Tim. 6:11). To flee means to run in the opposite direction of danger. What are some of the things that Jehovah tells us to flee from? MaterialismMaterialsm represents a threat to our spiritualility. This would involve thinking of the consequences before making decisions and taking promte action. Why flee from materialism? Today people are willing to sacrifice everything in the pursuit of money, if Christians place material things ahead of our Christian service these things become our god, this amounts to idolatry (compare Mt 6: 244, 33) We can ask ourselves " Do I really have faith in God's promise in Mat 6:33"? Such an examination will prevent us from making a decision from which we cannot recover. CONCLUSION Fleeing involves thinking things over in advance. Pray for holy spirit.

INTRODUCTION: There is an equestrian Sport where horses and riders navigate a series of obstacles; for success the team must be well tuned. Christians are warned not to " team up" (yoke) with unbelievers (2 Cor 6:14) The Corinithans believers lived in a very wicked city, and "unbelivers" applies to those that do not worship Jehovah and this counsel applied to all areas in life. We will examine three areas i) Business Affairs: Choosing to enter into a business deal with an unbeliever would you risk being compromised in areas of honesty? would your signature make you liable if your business partner did not all legal requirements? (Romans 13:1) ii) After school activies Youths should be especially careful of afterschool activies or sports because there is often a gradual undermining of their resolve to respect God's standards (Prov 15: 20). Parents are aware that many school children do not display positive qualities, would it be wise to maximize or minimize the time spent with such ones? (see w07 9/15 p. 10 par 8). The same principle applies to believing workmates. Even relatives that do not share our values should not be individuals we spend a large amount of time with. Our " fine works" will to a large degree counteract any negative comments this may cause. 1 Pet 2:12 iii) Courtship Since the bible has a clear command to only in the Lord, so naturally dating and courtship should be restricted to fellow belivers. (2 Cor 7:29; ) This is a loving protection for both individuals who would otherwise be faced with daily pressures to compromise his or her values. Not being able to share you joys

INTRODUCTION: Jehovah pays attention to us, he examines our hears and hears our expressions of devotion and he loves us (see Prov 15:9). We don't just intellectually accept his standards, we love them and are drawn to those that love his laws. We will look at (five) groups of people that Jehovah loves. i) " those hungering for righteousness" Do we hunger for spiritual food and love it? If so we will not allow other activities to encroach on our personal study time. Jehovah clearly loves those with this attitude because we are "filled" with an abundance of spiritual food. How can we imitate Jehovah and express our love for those that hunger for righteousness? Be willing to patiently teach those we meet in the ministry and be upbuidling to fellow believers. ii) " youths that pursue righteousness" Jehovah loves and really understand young people, he knows your trials and pressures you are faced with (2 Tim 2:22; Ps 34: 15). He knows being different is very difficult and deeply appreciates those that take a stand for his righteous standards. How does Jehovah show his love? He expresses this love in the bible and moves his organization to help young ones with innovative material. He provides a congregation to encourage them. How can we imitate Jehovah? Demonstate our love for young ones, preach and spend time with them. iii) " Those trained by discipline" Nobody likes to discipline or be discipline but Jevovah does this because he loves us (Hebrews 12:11) How does Jehovah show his love? Discipline is an act of love. He also continues to love to those that have been disciplined. He waits with antipation for those that have been disfellowhipped like the father of the prodigal son. How can we reflect the same feelings. Confirm your love for reinstated one. Show love. iv) "T hose persecuted for righteouness sake". (Mat 5:10). Like our three brothers in Eritrea, there are many that are perseucted because they refuse to break their integrity. How does Jehovah feel about them? He loves them very much. How does Jehovah show his love? When Jehovah pours his holy spirit on them to help them to endure and have a measure of happiness in their situation. How can we reflect Jehovah's feelings? Keep such ones in our prayers. v) " Those with grey hair found in the way of righteousness" (Prov 16: 31) Jehovah loves those that have endured for many years in his service. Our older ones are assured in the bible of their value despite advancing years and failing health. How can we reflect Jehovah's feelings? Take time to see that our older ones are well looked after. - see w14 1/15 p. 16 par 3 [value of maturity]CONCLUSION Let us continue because if we do we will experience the best feeling ever, feeling we are loved by God.

INTRODUCTION We don't follow Jehovah's commandments out of a sense of obligation but we take "great pleasure in his commandemnts" (verse 1). Why is this the case? 1) We find spiritual treasures ( verse 3) Even if we are materially poor we can find joy in serving Jehovah 2) We can experience the joy of giving ( Verse 5, 9) We can enjoy being generous by giving of our time and energy. Also we can generous in our attitude. 3) We can have confidence in Jehovah ( Verse 7, 8) 4) We maintain a solid hope for the future because we fully trust in Jehovah ( verse 3, 9) How can we maintain our righteousnes?1) TEACHING - How do we react if we find aspects of Jehovah's teachings difficult to accept? Some have had to maintain a solid faith despite not fully underestanding of the marriage for the resurrected ones (Luke 20: 34-36). We can all be fully convinced that Jehovah will know what to do and he will not make anyone unhappy. 2) CONDUCT - How we react to discipline? Jehovah loves those he discipline? Do we sulk or accept it as evidence of Jehovah's love? (Hebrews, Prov 24: 16). Don't let pride or misplaced anger push you to rejecting discipline " get up" and continue the race. Even righteous men of the past have made serious mistakes, Noah was guilty of intoxication but he didn't let that stop him from continued service. CONCLUSION Our greatest blessing are in the future, let us reach on.
