DEATH OF JEHOASH OF JUDAH [Aged 47]

"As for the rest of the history of Je·hoʹash, all that he did, is it not written in the book of the history of the times of the kings of Judah? 20 However, his servants joined in a conspiracy against him+ and struck Je·hoʹash down at the house of the Mound,*+ on the way that goes down to Silʹla"​ - 2 Kings 12:19-20

*Shimrith: A Moabitess whose son Jehozabad was one of the assassins of King Jehoash of Judah. (2Ch 24:25, 26) The name appears in the masculine gender at 2 Kings 12:21.— it vol II p. 931

JOZACAR AND JEHOZABAD

" His servants Jozacar the son of Shimʹe·ath and Jehozabad the son of Shoʹmer were the ones who struck him and put him to death.+ They buried him with his forefathers in the City of David, and his son Am·a·ziʹah became king in his place.+"​ - 2 Kings 12:21

"These were the conspirators+ against him: Zabad the son of Shimʹe·ath the Amʹmon·it·ess and Je·hoza·bad the son of Shimʹrith the Moʹab·i·tess. 27 Regarding his sons and the many pronouncements against him+ and the renovation* of the house of the true God,+ all these things are recorded in the writings* of the Book of the Kings. And his son Am·a·ziʹah became king in his place."​ - 2 Chronicles 24:26-28
