DID THE NEW WORLD TRANASLATION MISTRANSLATE EZEKIEL 23:20? The Hebrew word here translated as " emission" in the NWT is the feminine form of ZARAM. Strongs entry for this points out that it is from the {quote} " primitive root; to gush (as water):--carry away as with a flood, pour out" Note how the word appears in the Psalms So the writer of Ezekiel literally wrote from the " gushing" of horses. No more, no less. Contextually we can reasonably assume Ezekiel was referencing the seminal emissions of horses but the word "seminal" is not in the passage. CONCLUSION That the NWT Translation team chose not to add the word "seminal" at Ezekiel 23:20 was not from excessive prudery since the word "semen" does appear over a dozen times in the New World Translation. The editorially sound decision not to put the word in the passage above is based on the fact that there is no direct reference to semen in the passage.
