[/div] 1:50 SYMPOSIUM: SYMPOSIUM: Lessons on Loyalty From the Book of Job INTRODUCTION: Jesus set the perfect example of human loyalty. Loyalty involves sticking to someone even through difficult circumstances. Yet even imperfect people can choose to stick to Jehovah no matter what problems and difficulties. When a person adds true love to their faith it results in loyalty. To demonstrate loyalty to Jehovah we don't need a head full of knowledge we need a heart full of love. This quality is essential because all sooner or later will be severely tested whether it be illness, depression, financial setbacks, family problems, struggling to keep ones integrity with temptations at school or work, loss of a job or the death of a loved one. Job set an excellent example, "feelings like ours" and was confused by the reasons for the attacks he experienced. Satan proved to be a merciless and vicious oppoent that didn't give up (Job 1:6-12). - Satan targetted Job as the most faithful man alive at the time. Perhaps Satan reasoned that turning him would be as easy as it was with Adam and Eve. - Jehovah took note of Jobs integrity despite not being in Egypt with the Israelites. Jehovah notices our acts of integrity no matter what our physical location. - If Jehovah permits it I can take it. Jehovah set limits to Satan's attacks (see Job Chap 2 )[/ul]). - Job took ownershipp of his integrity; it was non-negotiable. No one, not even Satan can force us to be disloyal we have complete control over our integrity (see Job 27:5) - Job was rewarded for his integrity ( Job 42:10 )

1:50 SYMPOSIUM: Lessons on Loyalty From the Book of Job Satan's subtle attacks are clever and we might not even realize our loyality is being attacked, Satan can make what is bad seem good (2 Cor 11:14; John 10:44). Good examples like that of Job can help us to stand up - friends and acquaintences whom we may trust with good intentions to convey lies (Job 2:11; 4:15, 16). Subtle attack in clude the idea that God's standards are too strict, that God doesn't value our loyalty that we are unworthy of his love. Misguided counsel or thoughtless remarks from our brothers and sisters can be more discouraging than those on the outside. Jesus reacted firmly when Peter offered unscriptural counsel ( Mat 16: 23 ). Job did similar because he meditaed on Jehovahs thinking (Job 27:5). Never allow Satan's voice to echo in your mind. - Psalm 103: 11-13: You are capable of pleasing God - Deut 10: 12, 13: Jehovah's requirements are reasonable - Prov 27:11: Your integrity is of great value to God Daily prayer and meditation and have good friends, like Elihue, that are maintaining their loyalty and listen to their good advice (Job 36:7). # 1 INTERVIEW Sister who has resisted sublte attacks on her loyalty in the form of low self-worth. #2 INTERVIEW Elder: Note what other subtle tests the brothers face and how as elders they can help.

1:50 SYMPOSIUM: Lessons on Loyalty From the Book of Job We have absolute confidence in Jehovah as did Job a man of clear spiritual vision. Job did not place his confidence in himself or his "gold" (material possessions (see Job 31). However due to his problems and unfair treatment he was in need to be reajusted. Jehovah didn't do this by explaining the cause of his problems or giving him forsight of his rewards but Jehovah chose creation as a way of regaining his spiritual balance (Job 37:14). Why because this would strengethen his loyalty. - Rom 1:20: God's creative works reveal his qualities and focuses our thoughts on God's eternal power and abundance greatness. - reminds us of the primary issue of Jehovah's Sovereignty ELIHUE (CHAP 37) Was a student of the natural forces. A study of this deepened his appreciation for Jehovah. VIDEO #1 Thunder, lightening, Waves, Stars, CONCLUSION The water cycle - made possible by the sun - moving 100, 000 cubic miles of water, billions of gallons of water (Job 36:26). Jehovah can accomplish things that to us may seem impossible. Jehovah can stablize us even during our most trying times perhaps in a way we could never have imagined. Unsurprising then that after a consideration of Jehovah's Works Job's persepective was ajusted and he could see his creator as he had never seen him before (compare Job 42). Instead of focusing inward, stop and see Jehovah and share our confidence in Him (Psalm 9:1).

1:50 SYMPOSIUM: Lessons on Loyalty From the Book of Job Job needed to look beyond his own trials to see the power and wisdom of God. This would help him excessively concerned in proving himself righteous and self absorbed and lose sight of Jehovah's qualities. He needed reminding that Jehovah has the wisdom and the power to care for his loyal ones. Jesus told us to "observe the birds of the heaven" because a study of animal creation can strengthen our desire to serve Jehovah. Deepen our admiration and respect for Jehovah (Job Chap 39-41) THE WILD DONKEY (Job 39:3-5): The wild donkey is a particularly sturdy animal - African Wild donkey survive in 122° degrees - Dwells at 15,000 feet (5x sky scraper in Dubai) - Eat swamp grass that would cut most other animal's mouth - Austrailian donkey can lose 30% of body weight (death for most animals would be 10-15%) CONCLUSION: Why not study animal creation to see what more we can learn about our awesome God. Clearly Jehovah's wisdom far exceeds any human. Do we see the superiority of his moral guidance (see Prov 3: 5, 6)? We trust in Jehovah by letting his thinking guide our thinking. Jehovah's power is evident in the physical power of animals. Do we need to concerned or question about how Jehovah executes his jugements ( Job 40: 1-4)? James 5:11 "you have seen the outcome Jehovah gave, that Jehovah is very tender (compassionate) in effection". Jehovah will use his wisdome and his power to reward his loyal ones. This motivates us to listen and support his judgements. Concluding Scripture: Psalms 145:10

4:15 INTRODUCTION Two people can be in the same situation but have totally different attitudes to their future. In times of adversity people can "eagerly" by looking past our trials to focus on future blessings (Rom 8:25). - Courage: Tribulation is unavoidable so we all need endurance because we will all face trials sooner or later. We need courage - steadfastness facing up to trials without losing hope. Aware of the dangers and pain but also aware of the basis for hope (John 16:33). There is no problem we face that God's kingdom cannot solve. Remember that we have the means to not be " greatly shaken" (think like a pilot not a passenger) Ps 62: 1, 2; On sister with a terminal illness said "every day we should praise Jehovah, nothing else matters", (Ps 145:10; Jh 16:33) - Focus: Understand that trials can befall even those that have a good spiritual routine. Don't try to connect your trial to some spiritual neglect on your part. Do not compare yourself to others. Unlike Job our trials are not caused directly by Satan (many are " common to men") however Satan does exploit us when we are at our lowest point. Illustration: wounded antelope targeted by a lion. #1 VIDEO BANISTERS Good spiritual routine #2 VIDEO BANISTERS Tragedies #3 VIDEO BANISTERS Insensitive remarks Be Proactive: Understand you can take a degree of control over your trial. We have no control over the " man we are outside" our physical condition or circumstances, but we control our spiritual condisiton (2 Cor 4:16-18). There is no prison, no illness no circumstance that can control our spiritual condition so take ownership of your condition (accept responsibility of our spiritual maintenance especially when under trail) and we can be "renewed from day to day" by taking advantage of spiritual conditions. Never forget the blessing of the congregational support system so do not isolate yourself when undergoing a trial. Focus Focus on our unseen hope ( verse 18). Any trials we are undergoing are momentary and light in comparison to the "surpassing" blessings ahead. Sometimes when we are going through a trial we narrow are focus by telling Jehovah about the way we want to be blessed. Don't let the blessings you are praying for blind you to the blessings you already have. Open your eyes to Jehovah's way of doing things. There is no limit to the strength we can draw on when we are suffering not only that we can have joy in the face of adversity (see Col 1:11). We can encourage and provide practical help for those that are suffering. #3 VIDEO BANISTERS How others provided loving support.
