<< SONG #27: Takes sides with Jehovah! >>(Exodus 32:26) Once with confusion our sad hearts were filled, Drinking the cup false religion distilled; But with what happiness our hearts were thrilled When of God’s Kingdom we heard. (CHORUS) Take sides with Jehovah; Make him your delight. He’ll never forsake you; Walk on in his light. Tell, tell the glad tidings Of freedom and peace. His rule by Christ Jesus Will ever increase. 2. Now we’re rejoicing in serving our God, Spreading the seeds of his truth all abroad, Helping our brothers God’s virtues to laud, Praising his great worthy name. (Chorus) 3. We will not fear what the Devil can do. Trusting Jehovah will carry us through. Though they are many and though we are few, God is our strength and our might. (Chorus) << [Bible Reading ]>>

INTRODUCTION: Jesus loved righteousness and hated lawlessness and exposed the false religious teachers of his day who failed to teach people truths , thus depriving literally thousands from accessing the kingdoom ( Luke 11: 52; Heb. 1:9; Ps. 45:7). Today, Babylon the Great is more evil, more extensive and more culpable than the Pharisees (Revelation 14:8; 18: 24). Why is Babylon so guilty? Like ancient Babylon, the world organization of false religion is responsible for all the bloodshed in world conflicts by supporting governmental wars, religious conflicts and failing to use the key to teach the people the way of peace. SHUTTING UP THE KINGDOM (Matthew 23: 2) - The Divine Name: By attempting to eliminate God's name, religious leaders have blocked access to him (Micha 4:5)
- Unbiblical Traditions: threats of eternal torment, Financial burdens, complex mythology
- Appearances High sounding titles and special garb (verses 5-10)
- Hypocracy: Their behaviour repulses people pushing them towards atheism (verse 13)
- Unfaithful: They approve conduct the bible condemns, religiou villains discredit the bible (verses 23-24)
- Persecution Poison the minds of people against Jehovah's people like vipers (verses 34)
CONCLUSION May we continue to help people escape (Revelation 18:4)

Friday AfternoonINTRODUCTION: Although we do need to seek the kingdom first [Mat 6:33], Jesus did not say keep on seeking ONLY the kingdom and so other things rightly have a place in our lives. 1. Recreation(Mark 6: 31; John 4:34) [Bible Reading - Ecclesiastes]Jehovah created us to enjoy recreation and it's good for us. Jehovah is the " happy God" and he doesn't just want us to exist, he wants us to enjoy life. Different reacreational activities appeal to different people. "Peoplee" states one writer, "that cannot find time for recreation sooner or later have to find time for illness" indeed, wholesome recreation can energize us to continue our work. How can we keep recreation it's proper place? By Imitating Jesus. Jesus was not a workaholic, he attended social gatherings, spent times with friends, and found time to relax (1 Peter 2:21; Mark 31) That said he never allowed leisure to crowd out the doing of God's will (John 4:34). He kept his love of animals in its proper place. Jesus obviously loved and appreciated animals as he often used them in his illustrations, however he never let that love to become excessive. (Mat 12) [/u] [li]Does the time I spent with recreation interfere with my spiritual activities?[/li] [li]Does my choice of recreation leave me refreshed or exhausted? [/li] [/ul] [/quote] CONCLUSION Jehovah wants us to enjoy life and that includes a balanced amount of recreation. We need to keep it in its proper place by imitating Jesus. 2. Eating & Drinking(Ecclesiastes 2: 12, 13; Romans 14: 17 ) [Bible Reading - Macedonia]INTRODUCTION We spend a lot of time around food. Why does this rightly have a place in our lives? Because it food and drink is good for us and is a gift from God. (Ecclesiastes 2: 12, 13; Psalms 104: 15) How can we keep these things in their proper place? By imitating Jesus. Jesus could describe foods and food preparation in great detail and when he made wine, it was of good quality. However he said in Romans 14:17 that "the kingdom of God does not mean eating and drinking" and highlighted that we don't live for these things. This isn't necessarily a reflection of our physical size but we can ask our attitude towards these things, this includes our attitude towards alcohol. Alcohol can be a danger even if we do not drink to the point of drunkeness. (Phil 3:19; proverbs) SOLILOQUY Brother turns to alcohol after a hard day at work finds he is too dépendent on it and resolves to reasses his dependency. CONCLUSION If we are battling an immoderate use of alcohol, Jehovah will help us (Proverbs 23:21).

Friday Afternoon3/6 Concerns about health (Psalms 115: 7; Luke 12: 25; ) [Bible Reading - ...]INTRODUCTION Health is a legitimate concern that should however not overshadow kingdom interests. Why do concerns about health rightly have a place in our lives? Because as Christians we respect the gift of life and without life we cannot praise Jehovah (Luke 5:31; Psalms 115:17). We recognize there is a link between out health and our habits, so we eat properly, we rest sufficiently, exercise appropriately, we avoid threats to our life and we seek scripturally appropriate medical care. How can we keep health concerns in their proper place? We must not allow ourselves to become consumed with matters of health. Think of the reassuring words of Jesus at Luke 12: 25 says "stop being anxious"... "who of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his lifespan" We need to be cautious about giving advice about health matter since it is a very personal thing. Avoid being carried away with recommending certain foods, suppléments. CONCLUSION Paul did give Timothy some dietry advice based on his own personal experience and Luke was evidently a qualified doctor as he is described "the beloved physician" (1 Tim 5:23) but such comments are rare in scripture because they knew only the kingdom would solve permenently all our health issues. So prayerfully seek medical advice when needed and remember that one day no one will say "I am sick" (Luke 5:31; James 1:5). 4/6 Courtship & Weddings(1 Corinthians 10: 31-33 ) [Bible Reading - ]INTRODUCTION Courtship and weddings are important in people's lives. Why do courtship and weddings have a proper place in our lives? Because marriage is a gift from Jehovah that brings people happiness. That said diligent planning is necessary and it is appropriate that they spend time in these pursuits (Proverbs 21:5) How can we keep courtship and weddings in their proper place? They should never be allowed to overshadow our Relationship with God. A courting couple can often spend time together while engaging in spiritual activities. When planning the actual wedding we do not want to stumble others and avoiding an extremely elaborate wedding is wise favoring modesty (see 1 Corinthians 10: 31; 1 Timothy 2:9). They do well to appoint a "director" of a reception to ensure that things follow bible principles. CONCLUSION Being spiritually minded courtship and marriage can be one of the happiest times in a person's life (Provers 18:22)

5/6 Family Ties (Psalms 115: 7;Luke 12: 25; ) [Bible Reading - ...]INTRODUCTION: ... Why do family ties rightly have a place in our lives? Because it's one of Jehovah's greatest gifts to mankind. Happy united families were part of his purpose. By following scriptural guidelines can result in closely united and loving spend time with family members. Non-believing family members are not our enemies and proper care and affection should be shown to showing a willingness to make every effort to keep family harmony when bible principles are not involved. How to keep family ties in their proper place? Some cultures many feel little attachement or duty to family while in others place family duties above all else. Christians must show love and fulfill their family obligations but at the same time "obey God as ruler rather than men". This means there will be some circumstances that non-believing family members may find it difficult to understand. - Non-association with disfellowshipped family members
- Refusal to work abroad away from children or spouce
- Missing meeting for family occassions
When considering how we should react we must keep in mind Jesus' clear directions at Matthew 10:37 that shows we must love our relatives but to a lesser degree than our God Jehovah. However by treating family members discretely and with respect it will often lower tensions and often also improve the situation CONCLUSION The bible says "if possible ... be peaceable with all men" (Chap 12: 17, 18) so When we keep Jehovah first while appropriately honoring our family and cultivating true friendship with them, they may see the importance and the value of the truth. 6/6 Material Pursuits(1 Corinthians 10: 31-33 ) [Bible Reading - ]Why do material pursuits rightly have a place in our lives? Material things are part of Jehovah's creation. The bible refers to the material creation as " very good" and satisfying our material needs are part of his purpose. (Genesis 1: 31). How do we keep material pursuits in their proper place? Like runners in a race, we must be consciouse that many things can weigh us down and make serving God hardern (1 Corinthians 9:24; Hebrews 12:1). Satan uses materialism to distract and weaken us, burdening ourselves with unnecessary problems. CONCLUSION: A balanced view of material things is knowing they are simply a means to an end. It's not focusing on earning as much money as possible but limiting "use of the world" meaning, earning a living and only purchasing the things we need. This will help us guard against material things from becoming more important than spiritual things which could "choke out" kingdom interests (1 Corinthians 7: ?;Matthew 6:33)

Friday AfternoonINTRODUCTION The bible mentions " sacred secrets", these " secrets" come from Jehovah and he wants others to know about them. He reveals the meaning of these secrets progressively to those that want to do His will. Most people are not ready to make the effort to understand these secrets because they have no love of God but those that do are Under obligation to publicise them ( Matthew 13: 10, 11, 27). Ever since the kingdom was established n 1914 Jehovah's Witnesses have been preaching them "fromt he rooftops". Doctrinal truths & refinements revealed over the recent past:[1] Jehovah's Name & Universal Souvereignty (1 Corinthians 29:11; Exodus 9:_; Matthew 6:9). Previously our literature focused more heavily on Jesus and the Ransom ( see kr chapter 4, page 42 para. 9, 10). [2] Our God Given name (Isaiah 43:10) [3] The identifying of the KINGDOM Jehovah has revealed to his people that this is a heavenly Government in power since 1914 [4] Kingdom heirs and heavenly life (as distinct and seperated from the "great crowd" of "other sheep") 1935 (see kr p. 52-55) [5] Kingdom Illustrations - Mustard grain The remarkable growth from small beginnings of the Christian congregation and the protection given to those that accept that message (Pentecost 33 CE to Present) - See Kr(Kingdom Rules) page 90- Leaven: Spiritual growth (unseen by others but pervasive) of the preaching work. The expanding kingdom preaching work - kr page 91** kr released Saturday Afternoon Are we keeping up with Jehovah's progressive clarifications of the "sacred secrets" regarding these and other features? Jehovah has revealed refinements in the understanding on several questions in recent months. If we have been keeping up, we should be able to answer the following question - What is represented by the feet and toes of the image of Daniel 2?
- Who are the domestics fed by the "Faithful and discreet slave" of Mat 24?
- What is the understanding of Jesus illustration of the "wheat and the weeds" (Mat 13)
CONCLUSION Encouraged to review thèses features in FW. True knowledge has become abundant, so keep up with the progressively reveald "sacred secrets". (compare Daniel 12:4)

INTRODUCTION: God loves the family and wants every member to be in the new world. There is much advice on family life in the bible for this very reason. A happy family is more than co-existance, we are commanded to love our partners ( Ephesians 5: 25(; Titus 2:4)) What are the keys for a successful marriage: - Learn to love each other and be lovable - apprciate the efforts each one is making - try and look on the positive - be forgiving - be determined to work out différences ( Michah 6:8; ) - wait until maturity: Are you self motivated and ready to be a family head? By Wisdom a household is built up. The bible explains by wisdom and not emotion " a house is built up", so rather than emotion family life should be based on bible principiples(Proverbs 24:3 Psalm 19: 8-10) - Learn to identify bible principles 1
- Learn how they apply in your circumstances
- Apply bible principles
- Faithfully continue, confident that they will help
