9:40 SYMPOSIUM: We Can Rejoice Despite . . . INTRODUCTION We can keep our joy despite various trials because because of the gifts/ provisions that come from Jehovah - our relationship with Jehovah (The best cellmate ever) (1 Peter 5:3-5 ). When we successfully face trials we sense Jehovahs approval and can experience joy. Paul was convinced nothjng could stop Jehovah's love for us (Romans 8:38, 39)
- the international brotherhood 1 Peter 5:9
- our hope (Romans 12:12) These will vary according to circumstance. For example Br Harold King in solitary confinement. Or a depresses brother helped y the brotherhood. Or our hope sustaining us while caring for elderly parents. We will examine each of the (7) trails from ( Romans 8:35, 37) - (PART 1 OF 7) Tribulation
Tribulation refers to some distressing situation. Paul suffered from a persistent physical hardship that was like "a thorn in the flesh" to him perhaps a serious eye problem. He may have wondered why he wasnt given the gift to cure it but His relationship was what sustained him and permitted him to guard his joy (2 Cor 12:9, 10). debatingchristianity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1020381#p1020381
BR SCOTT Suffering from Cancer benefited from his firm relationship as well as the young brothers that help him with his assignment. This allowed him to be calm to be completely victorious.

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy? - (PART 2 OF 7) Distress (Proverbs 18:24; ; 19:4, 6, 7)
All humans suffer from distress, that is extreme anxiety pain. Some causes of loss if a loved one, injury or restrictions. This can result in depression, lack and enthusiasm or prolonged sadness.
Paul was worried about Titus 2 Cor 7:5 . His relief came from the brotherhood. When burdened by grief we can be strengthened by "Jehovah our God " 1 Sam 30:6 our brotherhoid is "good and pleasant" and it's a major scheme to isolate us from the brotherhood. When isolated we can live on memories Proverbs 18:24; ;
Our hope of everlasting eternity. Like the sky we will be able to rejoice forever.
Couple faced losing their unborn child 2 Cor 4:8:; - maintain a healthy diet - sufficient rest - exercise
Act on the things you can do and leave the rest in Jehovahs hands . Approach the brothers and seek professional help if need be (Luke 5) JEHOVAH understands and will find you in the darkest place.

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy? - (PART 3 OF 7) Persecution (2 Corinthians 11:23-25)
Since the beginning of time God people have suffered persecution. Paul rejoiced from his endurance 2 Corinthians 11:23-25
Gives us an opportunity Phil 1:14, 18
Persecution can strengthen our relationship with Jehovah 2 Corinthians 11:23-25
HOPE Expectation of good
We have hope of salvation,
Some have the hope of immortality Romans 5:2; Col 5:2
Others have the hope of life on earth Romans 8:20, 21
The world's hope is collapsing our hope is being built up
Titus 2:13 HOPE helps us endure when a Christian faithfully endures trials we are encouraged we have the assurance we have Gods approval and are strengthened (Mat 5:11, 12)
How can we strengthen our hope?
RUSSIAN BROTHER INCARCERATED "All my fears and anxieties were for nothing. I was in detention 343 days, and “not even a hair” fell from my head. This was the most interesting year of my life — an excellent school to help refine my spiritual qualities. I have never felt so close to Jehovah. What a great honour to uphold God’s sovereignty in this way!"
May we rejoice in the love of Jehovah and the worldwide brotherhood. We take pride in the edurance

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: What Contributes to Joy? - (PART 4 OF 7) Hunger (Philippians 4:11-13) Prolonged hunger is distressing and can impede our ability to think clearly. Paul experienced prolonged hunger due to travelling in unfamiliar territories or hardships.
He also lived during the time of (A great famine . Despite this he managed to maintain his joy (2 Corinthians 11:27; 2 Corinthians 6:2)
The secret Pauls was able to keep his joy because he had "learned the secret" namely the ability to rely on Jehovah for lifes necessities and being being satisfied with whatever he provides (Phil 4:11-13). When Paul did face those adverse circumstances he could maintain his joy.
We may face food shortage, civil unrest, personal economic setbacks or persecution. Even need greaters must sometimes learn to make do with less. The antidote for this is trust and reliance on Jehovah this helps us remajn calm and take kne day at a time. One father explained he also had to be grateful for food he didnt particularly like. Can we adjust if needbe and still be grateful ? We may today only eat what we like but can we adjust if that is no longer the case
SISTER SUFFERED MALNUTRITION
Learn the secret we must rely on him

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: We can endure despite ... - (PART 6 OF 7) Danger (2 Corinthians 1:8-11)
It is a matter of fact that we can endure despite danger. Paul, an example of this, lists (8) forms of danger Paul faced during the course of his ministry, including dangers from robbers and from possibly facing "wild beasts" in a Roman arena (compare 1 Corinthians 15:32). At one point he was under extreme pressue ever fearjng for his life, but he found consoled by fellow Christians that came to his aid. So today our brothers are often the first in the scene when natural disasters strike. We today may face dangers from robbers or the threat of physical attack.
BROTHERS SON KILLED BY A STRAY BULLET Helped by prayer and The resurrection hope.
We are being admonished to "rejoice in the hope of deliverence from danger". Habbakuk asked "How long ..." he had to witness such violence which caused him such stressbut recognised " it will not be late" . He did not just fret about the situation he resolve to call out to Jehovah, praying about his concerns. This way he could rejoice (Hab 2:3 ; 3:18)
Our heartfelt prayer are one of the deepest expressions of our trust in God.

9:40 SYMPOSIUM: We Can Rejoice Despite . . . - (PART 7 OF 7) Sword ( 2 Timothy 4:6-8)
Paul kept his faith alive during his first confinement and following a short period of freedom he was agin arrested. During Paul's final imprisonment, facing execution he wrote of his solid hope and unflagging confidence in Jehovah ( 2 Timothy 4:6-8). Paul faced death with courage.
We too can rejoice despite the threat of death. Death a temporary pause in the grave , is not able to extinguish Jehovahs love for us ( Romans 8:38, 39)
VIDEO TESTOMINY: BR FACED DEATH in Liberi; when fear rises the best way to manage is prayer, asking Jehovah whatnot do next. The brothers and sisters in Bethel helped his family as refugees.
Life in this system of things is fragile; We may die for our faith or be illness or accident. We must be determined to be faithful to the end. If we assume that the new world will arrive before we die we may be unprepared to remain loyal to the death if necessary. If we assume that the great tribulation will not come in our lifetime we will be unprepared formits hardships. We must "keep on the watch" as Jesus said.
CONCLUSION No trial will cause Jehovah to stop loving us, draw closer to Jehovah, keep assuring your heart if his love. Draw close each other and be strengthened with "ALL POWER" so we endure fully with patience and with joy ( Col 1:11[/url).

11:10 SONG #9: Jehovah Is Our King! and Announcements11:20 PUBLIC BIBLE DISCOURSE: Enjoy Riches Without Pain—How? ( Proverbs 10:22 ; 1 Timothy 6:9, 10 ; Revelation 21:3-5 ) INTRODUCTION Many believe being rich is synonymous with happiness but Paul warned Timothy that the love of money is the sources of much pain; gain and pain ( 1 Timothy 6:9, 10). The bible warns against sacrificing moral standards to get rich quick ( Proverbs 28:20) The bible warns against "the deceptive power of riches" which can disappoint during times of trouble, like dead batteries in a torch, not providing help when needed. - it doesn't guarantee security we hope for (Proverbs 18:11; 23:4, 5)
- it doesnt autoatically bring happiness and contentment. Many that are rich and famous admit they are lonely or find life meaningless
- money cannot automatically bring Gods blessings since we cannot serve God and prioritize the accumulation of wealth Matthew 6:24
VIDEO TESTIMONIES The stress and anxiety from being materialistic RICHESS WITHOUT PAIN The blessing we gain from serving God is gain without pain. Jesus spoke of "treasures in heaven" building a relationship with God( Proverbs 10:22 ; Matthew 6:19-21). Jesus lived by his word, avoiding greed and the accumulation of fame or wealth it focussing on serving Jehovah ( Matthew 4:8-10). Indeed Satan is clearly an example of having power and glory but being unsatisfied THINGS THAT ENRICH OUR LIVES NOW VIDEO TESTIMONY B The two individuals change If we continue us to focus on Serving God we will see the beautiful promise at Revelation 21:3-5 and Isaiah 65:17b, 21-23 will be fulfilled. 11:50 Summary of The Watchtower 12:20 SONG #84: Reaching Out and Intermission

How to find exquisite delight in Jehovah To know Jehovah is to love him - spend time with Him reading and meditating on his word - pour your heart out to God Review practical and realistic parts of the program. VIDEO SUMMARYJehovah has the right to expect we love Him more than anything anyone. Our love is often put to the test during these difficult economic times. The Jews in Babylon had to make sacrifices to return to rebuild Jerusalem. They started out with enthusiasm but lost focus and neglected Jehovahs worship (Hag 1:2-6) VIDEO RECAP PART 1 Br Herd There is no success without the blessing of Jehovah. There is nothing wrong in buying new things I dont think many of us still have black and white TVs. Opposition: The Jews should have been reassured by Jehovah being a powerful God of armies ( Hag 1:7-8) Problems David had many anxious moments but it was Jehovah his constant in life. While facing some unstated problem and in need of protection, he refused to dwell on his problem but rather in his relationship with God ( Psalm 16:1, 10, 11). Like David focus on Jehovah and reset.

- FIND JOY IN JEHOVAHS NAME Jehovah loves those who love and meditate on his name (see Mal 3:16 ; 4:2). We must meditate on the meaning of Gods name anď what that means for us. Jehovah can make us what he wants. We might be surprised at what he can do with us, so don't tell Jehovah what to do.
- Jehovah tolerated a rebellious people because he promised Abraham and David .
- Jehovahs name is powerful
When Gog attacks Jehovah will protect his people. We have no reason to fear this attack
- the timing of the attack is Jehovahs Ezekiel 38:4 see rr book
- Ezekiel 38:10-12
- when Babyon falls there will be no doubt we are "on the winning side"
OUR JOY DESPITE OUR CIRCUMSTANCES Joy is actually a protection for us. Nehemiah faced many problems but maintained his joy. Joy helped Jesus* , the Apostles and can help us to keep preachjng despite the circumstances. Our joy doesn't depend on our circumstances. Joy is aspect of the fruitage of the spirit, so if you feel you need more joy ask for it (Neh 8:10 ) * For further details see RC 2020 [CONCLUSION Fri AN 4.20 pm]THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART The new system represents so many joys because we will have " every good gift and perfect present" . Owning a home, perfect health, death removed, helping the resurrected ones. Happy adjustments and humbly learning to live where assigned. ( Psalms 139:140)
